I think it might depend on how late you are and how busy they are. I've heard of people getting turned away from Le Cellier when they were late. We were late to the Norway Princess dinner by 20 minutes and we were still allowed to get in and we didn't have to wait long.
I'm sure it's up to the restaurant to decide if they will seat you late. If you are in the area anyway, check in and see.
For whatever reason, we were very late to 3 ADRs this past trip, and very early to one. We were lucky that all the restaurants were able to accomodate us. In our experience, if you are very very late your reservation won't be in the computer anymore under your name or time however they will be able to find you by confirmation number. I would have been understanding if they couldn't seat us.
I certainly wouldn't plan to be late. We had no good excuses, one time I thought our ADR was for 6 instead of 5, another was travel issues, and the last we napped too long!
We had a 6pm adr for Garden Grill but stayed at the waterpark too long & we could'nt make it, (too late to cancel). We went to Epcot & passed GG at around 7.30, I just went to enquire if they could squeeze us in & apologised for not making our adr & she said we could have it if we were prepared to wait, we waited less than a minute. They were very busy, so it was very nice of them.
