Anyone ever keep a rental longer using priceline?

I rented a car through Priceline and got a great deal, but since renting it I got a great Ding through Southwest and will now need to either return the rental car four hours late or spend an extra four hours at the airport. I don't know how National will charge me the extra day, with their per day charge, which could be a ridiculous $55 a day for the fullsize I have reserved or $16 a day that I paid through Priceline. Anyone have any experience with this?

PL's website says:
Be aware that any extra hours or days will be charged at your rental company's prevailing rate and that additional taxes, fees and surcharges will apply. The prevailing rate varies by the car rental company that accepts your request and will appear on your rental agreement. This rate will be significantly higher than the price you named per-day at priceline.

You won't be paying that ridiculously low rate of $16 you paid via PL. I don't even think a PL reservation has to 30-60 minute grace period that renters normally get. Probably one way rental car companies makes money with PL reservations.

The video shown in the DME bus on our return to MCO informs us that Disney has stores in MCO to accomodate our last minute shopping. You'll have plenty of time.

Check your confirmation online. Maybe PL will have an option to add a day like they have with hotel reservation.

I figured that National will charge me the full day at their rate and I actually don't blame them for doing that. I've decided to take DME to our hotel in the morning, and then in the late afternoon I reserved an economy car from Alamo at the Dolphin for $20 with taxes and will drive back to get our rental. It seems extreme, but I cannot bring myself to pay around $70 just to keep the rental a few more hours. I also won't have to deal with the luggage, DME will take care of it for me. :thumbsup2
