So the weirdest thing happened this morning. Backstory: I am going to wdw with my family in August and again in September with my bestie for my bday. I had purchased an AP but then last week found out I would not be able to book FP's for my September trip until after I used my August ones due to new rule for AP holders and only allowing them 7 days worth of FP at a time. (and would clearly lose the 60 day advantage for trip #2). I was able to change my ticket into 2 separate tickets for each trip so this would not be a problem. What a nightmare that was). Anyway so now that my tickets are all set, I got an email from Touring Plans reminding me that TOMORROW is my FP day. (we check in Sept 20). Well I went in the app this morning just for fun and low and behold I was able to make FP up until Sept 23! (that's our last day)... of course it was 8:30 so slinky dog was gone and we had to switch our AK day to get FOP (but hey we got it!)... but still, I am so confused by this. My friend thinks it's related to my ticket mixup (I don't)... just curious if anyone has ever had this happen before? Today is definitely 61 days!

I am headed down tomorrow for a ten day trip and was able to make my fp at 61 days, although only 7 days worth since I have an ap. Last year I was able to make ten days of fp at 60 days out. You never know.

It's pretty commonly mentioned on here that if you have an AP and 2 trips that close together that the window often opens a day early for the 2nd trip. Not sure the reason, but I've seen it mentioned quite a few times.

The window opens a day early due to the first Stay’s “rolling window.” Every onsite Stay has a rolling 60-day window and when it meets up to the next Stay’s window, it cause the FP window to open.

huh. So strange though because I don't have an AP. I had purchased an AP voucher, then heard about Disney's new policy on AP holders only being able to book 7 days at one time. (I called and spoke to 3 people in different departments, all 3 confirmed this). I already had 7 days worth booked for my August trip. I was able to return my AP voucher and get a 7 day park hopper added to my august trip. Then I added a 4 day PH to my September trip so that I would be able to get FP for both trips at the 60 day mark. My friend I am traveling with in September is an AP holder, perhaps that had something to do with it? I was just really surprised this morning!

While true, it’s not new and has been there since the inception of FP+. Multiple trips in a short time play havoc with FP windows, no matter what kind of tickets are in play.

Interesting, I was told this was new. It's really hard when there's so much misinformation out there!! (and even cast members don't always have the correct info!) Right now I have separate park hoppers and was able to book both without a problem. we didn't want to chance waiting until FP day to find out if I would be able to book and luckily I was able to change my ticket for August (originally had AP). Now that both sets are booked I'm wondering if I can upgrade the first ticket back to an AP and dump the second PH ticket while keeping all of my FP's.

The following two bullets are taken from Post #3 of the FP FAQ and have been there since I wrote it years ago:
- Annual Pass (AP) holders have similar benefits as onsite guests when staying at an onsite resort. The primary difference is that AP holders can book up to 7 days of FPs at all times, and more if the length of the onsite stay is greater.

- AP holders have similar benefits as offsite guests otherwise, except that they cannot have more than 7 days of FPs booked at any one time.

The addition of Disney Springs-area resorts to onsite benefits consideration further complicates things, as apparently guests staying at those hotels cannot get more than 7 days of FP even when their stay is longer. It only gets more confusing with time.

Yep, all the time. Totally normal for everyone, no matter what type of ticket that have. We almost always have 2 trips in a 60 day period and book our FP for trip 2 at 61 days every time. I use it to my advantage quite often, to get hard to get FP

As to the rest, most everything the CM told you was wrong. They really do have NO idea about how AP/FP and on resort stays work. Zero. They are of no use, sad to say.
First, AP holders, who are not staying on site, have always been limited to 7 days, not new
Second, because both of your stays are on site you have no problems with booking ALL of your FP for your entire stay. You wouldn't have had any issues with booking FP and having an AP (unless you have an off site stay in there too)

There are only 2 exceptions to this that I have come across
#1, if the 2 on site stays are broken up with an off site stay, where you have also booked FP. That will "activate" your 7 day limit. You won't be able to make more FP for your 2nd trip, unless you haven't reach the 7 day limit yet
#2, if you try to book for arrival day and departure day for every trip it will eventually not see the departure day as a valid day and you'll hit a limit. At least that's the best explanation of why I couldn't book the last day of 2 trips. Maybe something else was going on but I don't think so.
Example in my case was
Trip 1, 5 nights, 6 days, arriving early on day one and departing late on day 6, so I wanted 6 days of FP
Trip 2, 4 nights, 5 days, arriving early on day one and departing late on day 5, so I wanted 5 days of FP.
I couldn't make the 11th day. I could only make 10.

Now to be fair to the CM, the idiosyncrasies of FP are so complex I'm not surprised they can't get them right.

So I'm curious, how did you come to ask the CM about booking your FP for the 2nd trip? How did you go about finding this out? Something happen that caused you to ask?

So I am an AP holder and have 2 stays coming up. 1 night in beginning of August, and then 8 nights in mid Sept. I was able to book FP on first and second day of first trip, and then I booked FP for 9 days in mid Sept. trip. I was also able to book some FP's just now for days between the 2 trips, including days that are 30+ days out from now. You would have been fine with your AP to book FP's for both of your stays.
