So the weirdest thing happened this morning. Backstory: I am going to wdw with my family in August and again in September with my bestie for my bday. I had purchased an AP but then last week found out I would not be able to book FP's for my September trip until after I used my August ones due to new rule for AP holders and only allowing them 7 days worth of FP at a time. (and would clearly lose the 60 day advantage for trip #2). I was able to change my ticket into 2 separate tickets for each trip so this would not be a problem. What a nightmare that was). Anyway so now that my tickets are all set, I got an email from Touring Plans reminding me that TOMORROW is my FP day. (we check in Sept 20). Well I went in the app this morning just for fun and low and behold I was able to make FP up until Sept 23! (that's our last day)... of course it was 8:30 so slinky dog was gone and we had to switch our AK day to get FOP (but hey we got it!)... but still, I am so confused by this. My friend thinks it's related to my ticket mixup (I don't)... just curious if anyone has ever had this happen before? Today is definitely 61 days!
Yep, all the time. Totally normal for everyone, no matter what type of ticket that have. We almost always have 2 trips in a 60 day period and book our FP for trip 2 at 61 days every time. I use it to my advantage quite often, to get hard to get FP
As to the rest, most everything the CM told you was wrong. They really do have NO idea about how AP/FP and on resort stays work. Zero. They are of no use, sad to say.
First, AP holders, who are not staying on site, have always been limited to 7 days, not new
Second, because both of your stays are on site you have no problems with booking ALL of your FP for your entire stay. You wouldn't have had any issues with booking FP and having an AP (unless you have an off site stay in there too)
There are only 2 exceptions to this that I have come across
#1, if the 2 on site stays are broken up with an off site stay, where you have also booked FP. That will "activate" your 7 day limit. You won't be able to make more FP for your 2nd trip, unless you haven't reach the 7 day limit yet
#2, if you try to book for arrival day and departure day for every trip it will eventually not see the departure day as a valid day and you'll hit a limit. At least that's the best explanation of why I couldn't book the last day of 2 trips. Maybe something else was going on but I don't think so.
Example in my case was
Trip 1, 5 nights, 6 days, arriving early on day one and departing late on day 6, so I wanted 6 days of FP
Trip 2, 4 nights, 5 days, arriving early on day one and departing late on day 5, so I wanted 5 days of FP.
I couldn't make the 11th day. I could only make 10.
Now to be fair to the CM, the idiosyncrasies of FP are so complex I'm not surprised they can't get them right.
So I'm curious, how did you come to ask the CM about booking your FP for the 2nd trip? How did you go about finding this out? Something happen that caused you to ask?
