Anyone ever have any luck cancelling/changing a Priceline reservation?

I made a reservation through Priceline for our arrival night (11/29), before we switch over to AKL on the 30th. Now we're considering going down to Florida a few days early and spending Thanksgiving with family before heading directly to AKL on Sunday the 30th, but of course this Priceline reservation complicates things. We would visit with family and then use the Priceline reservation on the 29th, except the one family member I'd really like to spend time with (and the main reason for visiting family) will only be around on the 29th, so if we miss the time with her, it's not worth the bother. Has anyone ever had any luck cancelling or changing a Priceline reservation? I'm not sure what I'd change it to anyway, since this is our last vacation for a while, but I'm looking at all options. Thanks in advance.

To do anything you would have to call the hotel directly and it would be at their discretion. I changed a date myself over the summer, and was only charged $10 by the hotel. (priceline has nothing to do with it once the reservation is sold) If you are wanting to cancel entirely, I think you're going to be out of luck.

I changed the names on a reservation. That was 2 yrs ago though. I had pricelined a hotel for NYC. I ended up cancelling all our plans and putting the money towards a different trip. I ended up ebaying the hotel room- and successfully changed the names on the reservation, directly w/ the hotel. I was able to get nearly all the money I spent on the reservation, I think I was out about $10 in the end. Not sure if it was just the hotel or not though. I'd call them and ask if you can put a different name on it, or move it.

Thanks for the replies-- I got sidetracked and then went out of town, so I didn't get a chance to check this until just now. I think we're just going to stick with our plans and use the reservation as-is. Thanks again!
