Anyone ever have a facelift?

Hi there, I am not an expert in this area, but I've done some research and, based on our findings, I think that a neck lift can be a really good option for people with sagging skin. There are a lot of different kinds of neck lifts, but the common theme is that they lift and tighten the skin to improve their appearance. Sometimes, this is done by removing excess skin and fat or tightening muscles, but in other cases, it is done by removing the extra skin or fat and then lifting the skin to its correct position. The recovery time will depend on the kind of procedure performed, but after the recovery period, I think that a neck lift can be a good option for many people, and I think that you should consult a board certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate your concerns and help you make the best decision for your needs.

As always, on point!

When this thread started we didn't know what Madonna was up to and now, well, the practice does not look more inviting - sheesh, that poor woman needs a psych eval not a surgeon.

Nope never done any and zero interest. Don't see a need to look for ways to spend a lot of money on cosmetic procedures. Seeing a lot of botox ads lately, no interest there either. None of those things will prevent the normal process of aging and many times, the results look terrible.

I had it done a long time ago, but it was very difficult and difficult for me to decide to have such an operation. A significant elevator was performed by tightening the facial muscles and the platysma, the subcutaneous muscles of the neck.
Welcome to the dis, LH.

Never. I also wouldn't date or marry someone with plastic surgery.
If done correctly, how would you know if you met someone and started dating? Would you first ask? Would you at first be attracted to someone's looks as well as their personality and then not date them any longer because they had surgery.

Quite honestly, that would make you the shallow one.

That’s to bad.. I had (corrective but elective) plastic surgery about 10 years ago. Not that I’m looking to date, happily coming up on my 30th wedding anniversary. I hardly consider myself shallow. Glad my husband isn’t either!

I'm okay being shallow. And it's rare to not notice. Sandra Bullock comes to mind.

Also just think they are getting the very best surgeons.

Not necessarily. Tara Reid, Mickey Rourke, and Kenny Rogers all come to mind.

Also, I get Botox for my 11’s and crows feet. I have been seeing a plastic surgeon for this for years, she is fabulous! Anyway, she had a new nurse practitioner shadowing when I went in last week. Somehow we got on the subject of Gwen Stefani. I really like Gwen, but imho, she got way too much filler and doesn’t look herself. That’s when my doctor chimed in and said when she goes to conferences each year she said there is a definite distinction in what is considered good plastic surgery depending on the region. NYC and LA - the coasts - are vastly different than say my city, Cincinnati. I totally believe that! None of my friends that get Botox or fillers look like a Kardashian. I have friends in AZ that get too much filler for my personal taste, but it’s still a lot less than LA. The rest in Midwest and South tend to be more of the “refreshed” look. (I.e., you look like you only better.) Your lips aren’t fish lips, filler is minimal, and Botox doesn’t freeze all expressions - your forehead can move!

Bottom line is if you feel better about yourself, who am I to judge? I sat in that chair just like Gwen did … but I got a lot less. Still got it though! Yes, I can personally say to my plastic surgeon I don’t want the Gwen look. But if it makes Gwen happy then I am happy for her!

And if you want to call me shallow for not wanting a scowl with the 11’s then that is absolutely 100% on you. I feel so much better — and I don’t get asked why I am angry when I am not anymore. That truly was the reason I got it to begin with. It was taking a toll on my self esteem.

Appearance is a personal thing, and can play a strong role on one’s self-image. I believe most of us want to look good for themselves, first and foremost. It would be a shame for anyone to deny themselves the pleasure of a glow-up for fear of negative attitudes from random strangers.

When it comes to self-image, perhaps some of those randos should take a good look at themselves.

*Pause, pensive stare at the jury*

The defense rests, your Honor.

And to all these new usernames flocking to this thread: Come for the face lift, stay for the DIS!

There are now several repeats of the same beauty treatment ad on this thread.

Disregard them all, because I’m running a sale on a cheap alternative to Botox. It’s called snake venom, naturally supplied thanks to some friends at the local pet store.

The procedure won’t take long, and the only side effects are pairs of fang marks along the treatment area, and an eyelid that doesn’t full open or shut, for about a month.

I’ve never seen anyone who looks better afterwards. They make think they do but no one else does

I've interacted with people who could use a personality lift, but never really gave much thought the the facelift part. I guess if it makes you happy you should do it.

No diarrhea?!?! Where do I sign....

I understand your concerns, as I'm in the same place right now. I hate seeing myself getting older and uglier, as I'm not like this inside at all. I like having fun and wearing pretty clothes and make-up, but sometimes it looks ridiculous on me, so I also decided to have some procedure
