Anyone ever had issues with mold on the Magic?

Asking for a friend - she is considering her first cruise next summer and has some health issues that make her very sensitive to mold. I told her I would ask if anyone had had issues... especially since the Magic has had issues with leaks/sewage.

Thanks in advance.

Mold is one of my allergies and I can instantly smell it when I'm around it. I've never personally experience a smell of mold on any Disney ship. Not saying it doesn't exist but we've been on the Magic many many times, most recently May 2025 and I haven't noticed it.

If she's worried, she could always bring extra allergy meds such as Allegra and Flonase. Also booking a balcony would allow for fresh air to come in the cabin. I find that salty sea air is good for my allergies.

If my room ever smelled like mold, I would immediately go to GS and ask to be moved if possible.

I am allergic to mold and had been having mild headaches and congestion for several weeks before my recent Magic Caribbean cruise. I had no issues at all during the cruise -- didn't take a Sudafed once. As soon as I got home, the congestion returned.

We recently returned from a Very Merrytime Cruise on the Magic.
DW is sensitive to mold - no issues.
