Anyone ever had a really bad experience at Whispering Canyon?

Oh my god YES
First I asked the waitress for a drink refill and she seemed annoyed.
So I asked if there was a problem and she said what is it of your business ,then
she spit in my drink and punched my daughter in the face and kicked me in the nuts then smashed the skillet over my wifes head.To top it all off a week later
she showed up at my house and ran my doggy over with her rent-a-car.
Glad I only left a 10% tip. But the food was good :) :rotfl2:

i can't believe it! we had the exact same experience except she ran over my daughter's turtle and was driving one of those segway things at the time..did she have brown hair, about 5'5" and have a WDW cm pin on by any chance??????

was it really busy ? :confused3

It was somewhat busy, there was a line of people waiting but not a long line. And we certainly weren't there close to closing time (about 7pm). I hate to sound "uppitty" because I hate it when others get that way...BUT...I don't care how busy or not it is...No one deserves that treatment. I've been to much busier restaurants at WDW and I've not run into this type of service. WCC has got to be the worse service we've ever had and it would have to be that someone we happen to be with really wants to go for us to try again... It was that bad for us. And remember... we weren't the only ones so I don't believe we irritated them in any way. It was them that had the problem...

We haven't had a bad experience there. We have had servers that were more reserved than others but we actually enjoyed that more. The food has always been good with good sized portions.

I've never been to WCC, but I wanted to make an observation. Frequently, when someone indicates that they didn't get the interaction they expected, the responses they get run to the 'well, you can't always expect interaction, it's luck of the draw'. I beg to differ. If I go to WCC, I expect my server to be 'on' - to be entertaining. This is the point of the restaurant, it's not an optional event. They are entertainers, as well as servers - they are servutainers (I've just created a new word!). And most of them, evidently, do a great job at it. It's the CUSTOMERS choice to not interact, and the servers job to work with that. If I went, and got a dud servutainer, or one who was having a bad day, I'd do what I do at restaurants at home when I get subpar service - I'd calmly speak to the manager THAT EVENING. And while still at the table, so they could do something about it. I have no problem getting up and finding a manager, if I need to. It's my money, and lots of it.

WDW is all about entertainment. That's why at even at V&A, they used to call the servers 'Victoria' or 'Albert' - because it was not just serving food, it was Disney style entertainment. WCC, PTC - these are not just restaurants, they are every bit as much part of the entertainment as Hoop Dee Doo or Chef Mickeys.

OK, either everyone is so stunned by my insightful, brilliant comments that there's just a respectful, awed silence, OR . . .

I'm officially a thread killer.

I agree in theory with you KC. I just don't have the guts to amke a stink. We have had duds at WCC and PTC. I doubt we give it another try. We were there for the "entertainment" not the food. Just to many place to experience to waste time trying it again.

The servers at WCC that don't participate should really be addressed. They should the interaction on the TRAVEL channel!!! Giving the impression that it is an expectation to be met!

There is a simaler thread about restaurants that don't run along the lines of "audience participation"...I'm wondering though, what if you are a family that enjoys the action and entertainment, but doesn't perhaps want to participate themselves...should the servers respect the wishes of the guest or should guests just avoid places like WCC? It's been an interesting topic and I'd love to know what other's think! As people have said on this thread that there have been times when people felt harrassed and ridiculed for not participating to the point of wanting to leave...is that a "you asked for it" sort of situation or do the servers go over the line sometimes?
