Can Disney arrange your airfare? If so, do they offer a good deal? I heard this from someone else and I was just wondering if anyone has done this. Thank You to all who can help.

I haven't booked through Disney, but I did some pricing before I booked my airfare. Disney's prices usually came in pretty good, basically matching up with the cheapest rates I found on Delta or USAir. I was checking for flights out of Indianapolis, so that may not hold up for other cities, but at least it's some information to start with.

I haven't booked through Disney, but if you go to the Disney site and fill out the information you will receive a quote for the hotel, airfare, etc. It should give you a good idea of whether or not the airfare is decent. I decided to book through American Airlines because it was a few dollars cheaper.

We checked disney's flight booking option and it doesn't seem as if they are making$$$ off this..the rates are comparable to AA or Delta rack BUT we did not book this because Song is so much nicer than delta(even though they own it) and we got tickets for $150 RT Jetblue and southwest are also good bets.

Disney is not ripping anyone off..however,you can still get better deals..even on expedia or orbitz!

P.s- I am not 100% on this (there seems to be different info on ME) if you are planning on using Magical Express I THINK only certain airlines are affiliated you would need to ask that!!! hope this helps :flower:

Years ago when we made our first trip to the World, we let the travel agent sell us a package that included air. Well, even though we live near a major international airport that does have direct flights to Orlando, we ended up making a connection in Atlanta, with a 2 hr. layover. What should have been a 2½ hour flight became a 6 hour trip. It's not the kind of thing that you want to do with small children. SInce then, I've handled my own air reservations. I can usually get cheaper, more convenient flights on my own.

I've heard of things like aka-mad4themouse said happen to people that book through Disney or take packages. It doesn't happen all the time but you don't know until the tickets/confirmation arrives. I've always found better deals booking myself. Besides, I like to have as much control of my vacation planning as possible!! :teeth:

when we first starting flying to Disney it was back in the 80's when you couldn't book it yourself easily. We would always use packages and while the prices weren't bad, the airline times were always awful. It seemed we always had a strange time and always had a layover.

Now that I book it myself, I will always double check my plans to see how I did. I will always use the Disney site and see how my trip compares. THe prices and flight times are always better when I do it myself, but the Disney isn't unreasonable, it just usually includes things I don't want, and flight times I don't like!

This time I did book are flights with Disney. The reason was the price was the same as if I booked them myself. So it was just worked out getting the whole package through them.

My fiance and I are flying to WDW for our DIsneymoon from Sacramento, CA and booked our fairfare with a wholesale ticket from Disney. We saved almost 50 dollars per person. The best part is, We don't have to pay for the tickets until 45 days out but they are already booked.

If anyone has some words of warning for doing it this way, please do share.

I was able to book an Airtran flight for my family through Disney about $300 cheaper than through Airtran's own website. As for the other carriers, I found that the Disney quoted price was generally about the same as quoted on other sites (carrier, Yahoo, orbitz, etc). Personally, I would have paid a few dollars more just to consolidate my major expenses into one bill.

For our Disney cruise last Thanksgiving we opted to go with the Disney airfare...it was comparable to what I was finding myself, BUT we had the Disney service to back it up and was I ever glad we did it!!!

We are located within 2 1/1 hrs. of St. Louis, 4 hrs. of Nashville, 4 hrs. of Indianapolis and 2 hrs. from Evansville, IN so I check at all locations for the best price and for the cruise Evansville was the best....around $200/person at a holiday...so we took it. Once we got to the airport, the plane experienced a couple of mechanical problems which was going to cause us to miss our connecting flight in Charlotte, so the airline...and for the life of me I cannot remember what we flew...guess I'm trying to block that experience...airline tried to re-route us to NWA on a flight that was even worse...would arrive at MCO at 4:30pm....not possible considering the ship sails at 5. So, I got out my trusty Passporter since I could not locate the Disney travel phone number on my travel papers...called Ground Services and was connected with the most awesome CM, Michelle. Michelle was able to get us a new connecting flight out of Charlotte that would put us into MCO at about 3:45 and see that our bags were properly ticketed so they would be onboard with us. We got on the original flight out of Evansville as it was cleared for take-off, not knowing what we'd do when we landed at Charlotte. Upon touch down, I checked my voice mail on the cell and sure enough, Michelle had taken care of everything...we even would be flying first class from Charlotte to MCO...what a treat! Then at the gate, we were met by a DCL CM, ushered to the awaiting bus while the whole time the DCL CM was on his radio with the ground crew to be certain that our 3 bags were on the Disney truck headed for port. We were then whisked away to a coach bus, and driven to the port with confidence that the ship would be there for us...it was...turned out another airline cancelled several flights that day...Saturday before Thanksgiving...so another family was even later and they decided to hold the ship until 5:30pm. Once we arrived, another CM met us at the bus and walked us through the check-in and onto the ship. We did miss the sailaway party and the famous life boat drill, but we were on the ship and that was all that mattered.

IF we had not booked our air travel with Disney Travel Co. we would never have made the ship and our annual vacation that we had looked forward to for 11 months would have gone down the drain....had it not been for Michelle in Ground Services. We did send word to the company that she was to be commended for an excellent job!

So, that said...if you are worried about traveling and arriving on time...go with Disney!

We booked through Disney and we got the same fare that we would have gotten booking ourselves. Its a good flight too, no layovers and we dont zigzag all over the country lol.
