Anyone ever get the wrong color magic bands? I just did.

So this is our third set of MagicBands, the the others came as ordered and without issue.

This set has the names right but 3 of them are in the wrong color.

I'm not going to try calling on Easter but I'll call tomorrow and see if I can send them back and get 3 in the colors requested. Mine is one of them but I don't care, it doesn't matter to me. My daughters want their colors however.

Honestly at this late in the game why bother? I wouldn't worry about colors and only it they work right.

You might be able to order some magic band skins to cover up most of the color, if they can't/won't exchange for the correct ones in time. They're not terribly expensive, and mine arrived fairly quickly.

Unlikely that you need to send the others back.

They can just send more.

Return shipping likely exceeds Disney's cost for the MBs.

Besides, what would Disney do with MagicBands with your names engraved on them?

I really don't care, I'm good with anything but my girls picked out their names and colors.

The girls also picked different colors from the last two sets, they are "collecting" them, so there is that as well. I'd just like what I ordered.

According to Disney:

Q. I received my MagicBands, and there is something wrong with them. What should I do?

A. If there is something wrong with your MagicBands—for example if your MagicBands are the wrong color or they are visibly broken—please contact us.

Don’t worry! We’ll try to correct your issue as soon as possible and send you a replacement if necessary. If we cannot replace your MagicBands before you travel to Walt Disney World Resort, you will be provided with MagicBands or cards when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel.

Replacement MagicBands may be subject to a fee.

If you have not yet done so, customize your MagicBand.

What colors did you get?
I noticed at times when you click save that it didn't always save. If you got gray, the default color I believe, I could see that as the issue

They will send the correct colors for you if you call them. The right color is important. And they'll probably let you keep the ones that are wrong. The girls can have fun decorating the wrong ones and use them, too, giving them two sets. :)

I get what your girls are thinking, I'd be sad if I got the wrong colors too. Probably seems silly since they are just bracelets, but still, I want green this time lol. Looks like it can be fixed though so Yay!

Thanks

Yep gray.

I called and found out the issue. I had a fastpass+ issue with one of my days and had to call in and reset that day. Apparently that can also reset your MB choices and they were supposed to tell me to check and make sure it was still correct. Interestingly enough it was those three bands that were the issue to the FP+ issue, so I tend to believe the what the lady I spoke to today said.

They are sending new ones out and depending will either ship to me or to the resort once they are customized.

Thanks

Oh good. I know my daughter would not be thrilled with grey, heck I wouldn't be thrilled with grey. Have a great trip.

It sounds like you've had an unfortunate history with FP+. Hopefully, things will go better from here on out. We've been really happy with the improvement. I makes our touring plan work like a charm.

For some people FP+ is great. For others, it sucks.

We fall into the it sucks camp, I've been going to WDW since 1980. I remember no fast pass, fast pass, fp/fp+ and now fp+. FP+ was/is a step backward... for my family. I'll leave it at that.

Our upcoming trip is at 4-5 crowd levels but we aren't expecting much, it was a spur of the moment type of thing by our usual standards. Hopefully the crowd levels keep the standby lines at minimums for non headliners like it was prior to fp+. We shall see.

In any case, I am (or was) a huge WDW fan and have been pretty much all my life. I'm not to proud / ignorant / blind / oblivious to call things as I see them and with the downfall of Disney dining quality and now this, it's simply not something I'm that into anymore. I've got 8 and 10 y/o daughters (at the youngest age) which is what's swung me on this trip but honestly, it is what it is.

The days of dropping 10k+ on a trip are over. Disney will be lucky to see 5k out of us on this trip and that's only because the room deal was good enough to make staying off property less attractive this time. For some reason our usual off property spots are still at peak rates for the next several week. Odd.

Anyway, thanks for the well wishes. I'm not expecting much based on our previous FP+ experience (which led to the cancellation I note in the sig, which needs updating again) so I shouldn't be disappointed.

I'm one of the few people who look at these changes from both sides and give an unbiased view of the changes so my after action trip report is something quite a few people will be looking forward to. I'll be putting it up a week or so after I get back.

I arrived at CR last year to find that my MBs were not there at all (we are from UK, they dont ship them here). They issued us grey ones and my kids (all young) immediately started to complain. The CM said that she could only issue grey ones as they didnt have any others. Then my friend checked in, same problem, no MBs, his kids kicked off too! A manager came over, asked what colours everyone wanted, went out back and returned 2-3 minutes later with the correct colour MBs.

I hear you. We've also been going regularly since the 80's and there have certainly been a lot of changes. Fortunately for us, the latest innovation with FP+ seems to have swung things greatly in our favor.

We always attend during summer months on days that are predicted in the crowd level 8-9 range. I don't think we would be pleased with 4-5 crowd level days as the parks would probably close too early to suit our tastes. FP+ seems to have changed crowd patterns quite a bit. They key is understanding the flow of the crowd and use that knowledge to your advantage.

My kids are riders. They're not happy unless they can ride the headliners over and over and over again. Last summer, we probably hit more attractions multiple times than we ever have before. We also had plenty of time to experience some of the less popular attractions for the first time in a few years. I really think we have FP+ to thank for this positive experience.

Our touring plans are based on the following simple premises:
1. many guests will arrive way too early in the morning, eventually get hot and tired and leave
2. others will arrive later, but will be clueless and get frustrated and leave
3. those that stay will line up way too early for evening parades and fireworks
4. most importantly, wait times are greatly exaggerated in the evening

We'll be back on May 30 to try it all again. I hope your next trip goes better than the last one.

There is an upside to grey though! You can get skins online that are really REALLY cool and you don't have to worry about them matching the color of the MB. I still love my Doctor Who skin that I had in October and I got SO many comments on it! I even got on early to Test Track (I messed up the times in my head lol) because the CM at the FP+ line was a Whovian!

I hadn't even considered the skins. Hmmm…my daughter is a huge anime fan, I am totally going to be looking at some skins. Oh and as a fellow whovian, kudos on your great taste. :)

You always need to check your magic band personalization in your MDE account right before they are scheduled to ship to you. Twice, I have found that all of my MB's had reverted back to grey from the colors that I selected. Come to find out, making changes to your MDE account can "reset" your personalized MB's back to plain old grey ones :)

I had yellow selected and blue for DH and saved both, I realized last week his had defaulted back to gray...so weird.
Fixed again and it seems correct, so hopefully they come out right, since tomorrow's our last day to edit!!!
