I am turning the big 4-0 this year. I was thinking of flying down to Orlando to spend a day at WDW with my best friend. My husband and I took our 2 DDs in November for 9 days. I still have days left on the PHPs. I just don't know if I would feel too guilty going without the girls.

I don't think I could go for just a day. Too long of a flight for me and I wouldn't want to leave!

But, if you're not too far away, why not? I might consider that if I had the same sort of deal with DL since it's only a 2 hour flight.

The flight is less than 2 hours.

Why not spend a night or two and enjoy some time with your best friend?

Krista :)

I watch the USAir e-savers list but Orlando very very rarely comes up. It did one time, it was like $79 roundtrip, leave Saturday, return Sun-Tues (list comes out on Wednesday for the following weekend), I was tempted. They don't run them that cheap anymore.

I was in Orlando for business, and hit the parks for an afternoon once.

Oh, I was planning on spending one night. Flying in Saturday afternoon and flying home Sunday night. Just one day at the parks. I was thinking of spending the morning at MK and the afternoon at Epcot since I have the one day left on some PHPs. My family never wants to wander around World Showcase. Just called my friend and asked her what she thought. She said her husband is in Turkey right now and she needs to run the idea by him, but it sounds good to her.

I hope it works out for you. I'd love to go down for a couple of days with one of my best friends :)

Sounds like fun to me. We did spend 1 day in WDW before our cruise once and it was worth it. DH and I went without the kids...with no guilt. ;) That was a chance to do the stuff we never can do with the kids there. :D The only thing that would hold me back would be the cost. I say if money isnt an issue, then go for it.

Money is not really an issue cause my parents and in-laws usually give me enough money for my birthday to cover the cost of the airline ticket- $217. My husband told me for Valentine's Day that he would pay for one night at a hotel if I wanted to go somewhere as I haven't ever spent the night away from second DD. I already have the PHPs, and I am going to use Disney Rewards for most meals. That basically just leaves ground transportation and incidentals.

I couldn't see going without spending at least a couple of nights. For me, it's about 5 hours on two planes, plus advance time at the airport.

I guess if money is no object, and the flight is short...then I guess I would fly and spend a whole day in WDW and stay overnite. But because I am ME...I would prefer to stay least 2-3 nights a long weekend getaway. I would leave on a Thursday and head back home on a Sunday afternoon. This would be more worthwhile for me.

My SIL and her friend once flew down to Orlando just to watch my nephew march with his high school band in the parade. Her friend's husband had tons of frequent flier miles so the airfare cost them nothing. They bought single-day tickets to the MK and spent the afternoon there before flying back that night. Boy was the nephew surprised!

GOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! If you have an opportunity to do that for your 40th then by all means take it! I got to spend my 41st bd at WDW - I had breakfast with Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace - and I was glad I did. (I couldn't make it for my 40th since DD was only 8 months old and we didn't want to take her that young)

Go and have a GREAT time! It is something you will always remember! :)
