Has anyone ever stayed in an upgraded room (like Tower MK view at CR) for say...one night and then transferred to a standard room for the rest of your stay? Is this even allowed? Would be early December.....non-crowded time.

You can book anyway you like, pending availability :). We have never done a split with different room types at the same resort, but if we did, I think I'd do the last night with the upgraded room as I don't think I'd want to downgrade (but that's just me). But with that said, if the upgraded room is only doable at the beginning and it's something you want to do, I say go for it :goodvibes.

I have contemplated the same thing. am thinking of doing garden wing at the beginning when we wont be in the room a lot and then upgrading to tpv at the end. i asked this same question a while back and people tried to talk me out of it. just an fyi

Thanks Mickynut1! The idea is to stay on our arrival day to enjoy the view (and the fireworks!) that evening. The last night of our stay is not a fireworks night (because of MVMCP) so that's why we're thinking of doing it at the front end of the stay. Just a thought to take MK view off my daughters bucket list and save some money for the next trip too!! And we would still have the benefit of walking to MK on the park days.

That sounds like a great idea......I would do it ::yes::.

Many people do split stays in order to enjoy the benefit of a deluxe, even though it is a short period of time. Most people do the value first, and then transfer over to the deluxe, but it can be done either way.

I say go for it. Of our two week trip, only 5 days is at the Contemporary because I wanted to cross of the Atrium Club level off the bucket list. We could only afford 5 days at CL so we have standard rooms at a moderate the rest of the time to help with the cost.

There will be fireworks on party nights: Holiday Wishes at 9:30. The park schedule doesn't list Wishes on party nights because there are no fireworks during regular park hours.

We've done it the other way, standard first and then club level or mod first, then deluxe.

I was going to say this too.

I haven't seen Holiday Wishes, yet (I will this year). But, I do prefer Hallowishes to regular Wishes. So, that is something to consider as well (unless you are planning to be at that party).

Ok thanks for the info about the party fireworks. We can always watch them from a different vantage point at the CR.

The original plan was to split the stay in half at CR (MK view) then move to a value resort. Then I did the math and it's only slightly more to stay one night MK view and the other nights standard view at the CR and then we have the benefits of a monorail resort for the entire stay. It's a no-brainer if the availability is there the first week of Dec.

we are contemplating garden wing for half and tpv for half. is that your plan too or are u staying tower the whole time?

It sounds like a great plan and you should go for it. However, if you are planning to go this December all signs (lack of ADRs, lack of room resorts) point to it being quite a bit more busy than previous years. It may be because Thanksgiving is so late.

That being said, we are still planning on going starting Nov 30th. We'll be your neighbors doing the split stay at the Poly and BC. Fingers crossed for RO discounts!

Have a magical trip! pixiedust:

I agree with doing the split at CR with 1 night MK view and the other nights standard. You still have to move for that one night, but staying on the monorail would be worth it, IMO :goodvibes.

BC = Beach Club :)
