Anyone ever bring seat cushions?

Anyone ever bring seat cushions to sit on while waiting/viewing shows and parades (Fantasmic especially)? I don't mind waiting for an hour or more to ensure a good viewing spot, but I hate it when my fanny goes numb!

I was thinking of bringing some along and stashing them in a locker until needed. Has anyone done this, and how did it work out? Also, any suggestions for types of cushions that work best?

Not cushions per se, but we did bring beach towels to sit on to watch Fantasmic.... more because we were worried about cold fannies in January! We stored a duffel in a locker at MGM, pulled it out and changed into warm clothes just before entering the stadium for Fantasmic... then laid out our beach towels (doubled over) to sit on.... we got a few envious looks from some others! It worked out great... and if I had thought of it, I may have brought some to sit on while waiting for SpectroMagic.... we sat for well over an hour on the sidewalk on Main Street...OUCH!...P

Not a bad idea! What about chair cushions? (You know, the kind that you buy to put on wooden chairs) They're fairly sturdy, and not so pouffy that they'd get wrecked sitting on them.

I brought a blanket to put on the benches to watch Fantasmic. It was January (2001) and very, very cold. We were the envy of all those around us that evening, LOL. Wouldn't have bothered if my parents hadn't been along and if we weren't staying at the BWV. Too much of a pain to carry around - I like to go light!.

Best wishes -

I like to travel light too, that's why I thought I'd bite the bullet and pay for a locker, so we don't have to lug them around until we need them. A blanket is not a bad idea either, but I want more cushion for my fanny! I've gotten soft in my 28 years!

I'm surprised more people haven't done this! Well, it's something to think about, anyway. I guess it will depend on how much room in the suitcase there is if I bring some along or not.

We have Therm-a-Rest sportseats that we store in our backpack. They are self-inflating and roll up for easy storage. We haven't used them for Fantasmic yet, but have used them on Main Street at Magic Kingdom. They are a life-saver for us!!

I bought some small inflatable seat cushions on ebay before my last trip. They fit in a fanny pack or pocket, not much bigger than a rain poncho. It takes only a few blows to inflate them. I've sat on one for hours waiting for a show and it really makes a difference.

I always have seat cushions in my luggage, though we have not been back to Fantasmic since I bought them.

Being vets of many an outdoor event, we brought a vinyl-backed tablecloth with us, and stashed it in a locker (along with bottled water and jackets and the like). It was perfect for spreading out to sit on, while waiting for the parade, and for some reason, having something which clearly stated "this is my space" kept people from crowding us (of course, we only spread it out to fit us - we didn't take up extra space). This would have been a lifesaver had it rained.

You can get vinyl backed cloths after holidays at most discount stores for very little - right now, our Dollar Tree has them, too.

Anne930, where did you find the Therm-a-Rest sportseats? Those sound exactly like what I'm looking for!

Thanks everyone, for responding! :wave2:

We got the Therm-a-rest cushions at a store called REI. It's a recreational/outdoor store that sells tents, hiking equipment, etc. Anyone that sells sleeping bags and pads to go underneath them will be familiar with Therm-a-rest. They have different sizes, all the way from seat cushions to sleeping bag size.

Thanks! We've got a couple differant outdoors stores around here, so I'll take a look!

Anne, I sent you a PM asking about the cushion, so never mind!
