Anyone ever booked a WDW trip without telling your spouse?

I see lots of threads about surprising your kids, but has anyone actually surprised the entire family, including your spouse?

I just booked 4 nights/5 days at the Poly in June for the four of us: myself, my DH and two DDs (age 6 and 4). It will be the first trip for DD#2, and I really want her to go this year because DD#1 went when she was that age, and she still talks about it to this day. It was a perfect age for her first WDW experience, and I want DD#2 to have that.

I just got my performance sharing bonus from my job, plus an extra check that I wasn't expecting from a trust fund I inherited last fall. So I decided to use it on a Disney trip. And I haven't told a soul yet! :woohoo:

I'm normally not so great at keeping my mouth shut, but I think this could be really fun if I can pull it off. I know I should probably have mentioned it to my husband before I booked, but he is always surprising me with stuff and I don't think I've ever (in our ~10 years together) really surprised him. It's time, don't ya think?

So far, I've only told him he has to take PTO from his job on June 9-11. I haven't told him why, and I don't think I'm going to.

Congratulations! I hope you have a fantastic trip!

P.S. My husband would kill me if I booked a trip without discussing it with him as I would kill him if he did the same thing. We have a policy that anything over a $100 must be discussed with each other prior to doing it. I envy your ability to surprise everyone like that. :)

I do it all the time!:rotfl2::rotfl2:
I book the trip, then tell him when we're going, and he says, "ok, sounds great babe"......I love that man!:lovestruc

I surprised my husband with a trip to Disney this past December. I called his boss and got the time off from him. I got us a night flight so he would work a regular day on Tuesday. My brother was driving us to the airport so I had the suitcases in his car. When my brother came to pick us up my husband thought we were just going out to dinner. He had no clue where we were going until we arrived at the airport and guessed when we were flying to Orlando. It was awesome.

Glad to know I'm not the only one brave enough to try it! :lmao:

So far, I haven't spilled the beans. I've been more tempted to tell my kids than my DH, but I know I will get an ever better reaction when we show up at the airport and see "Orlando" on the monitor at our gate.

Here's hoping I can keep my mouth shut for the next 3 1/2 months!

I would love to do that....someday. For now my DH is the soul breadwinner so he would be the one paying. I would love to surprise him with a trip to Disney and stay at CR (his favorite resort), I will have to wait until I can go back to work full time before considering this. Have an awesome trip....how exciting :goodvibes
