I have a friend that wants to book a trip to wdw via expedia in Feb 2016 for 3 days. She says that the price is roughly$700 per person and this includes airfare for a stay at BWI. Anyone ever done this and how has it worked for you verses booking directly through wdw or TA. I have only used a TA myself and it has been so easy.

I have used Orbitz in the past and will be trying Travelocity this next time. I have always found it to be fine and it's cheaper than booking directly with Disney because of the additional discounts offered on top of theirs through these sites.

I've done Expedia. When they did the booking to Disney, my child became an adult. When I checked in, Disney didn't catch it and then when I tried to add tickets, I couldn't. To fix our reservation, Magic bands, etc, was hours. And several trips to the resort desk.

We did for our trip in early November. We were arriving late but due to a flight delay we arrived really really late. Prior to leaving I had been having massive issues linking my reservation to MDE and ended up spending hours on the phone and it never linked correctly. Thankfully a really nice CM was able to help us get our ME set up correctly. We got to the resort and tried to check in. The CM called another CM over and said they would be back in a minute. It was almost 1 am and we were exhausted. I fell asleep at the counter and about a 1/2 hour later the guy was nicely trying to wake me up. He said my reservation had been cancelled and they were trying to work with Expedia to find out what happened. Well the entire reservation had to be pre-paid and I never cancelled and they never refunded me so I pulled it up on my phone and showed it wasn't. They couldn't figure it out but finally about 2:30 am we got to our room.

Never again!!!

I just returned from a trip booked through Expedia. I booked through them because at the same time as they were matching the Disney GP discount for December, I could also apply an Expedia code. Some of my dates were blocked out for the BB, AP and Fla Res discounts so it was the only way to get a good discount for the whole trip.

I usually end up booking half my trips direct through Disney and half through Expedia because two of my trips tend to overlap dates that are blacked out for the better discounts direct with Disney (March and December) and most of the time I can find an Expedia code to use as well. I have never had any issues at the resort with a reservation. The only issue I have is that I have to call Expedia to get the Disney reservation number so I can link everything in MDE. I wish they would just include it in the itinerary or email it. I do link it to MDE while I have Expedia on the phone so I can be sure the link works and so far (knocking on wood) no problems. I have even been able to bypass the front desk and go straight to the room since that program started. I have never felt like I was placed in a bad room or bad location either. I got both my room requests for the trip last week without doing anything more than making the request when I booked with Expedia.

I should note that I don't have children, but I have noticed that on the Expedia site it does say something to the effect that Disney considers all guests on the reservation to be adults. So it's probably better to do like people do with Orbitz bookings and make the reservation just for the adults and call to add the children later. I also don't make a lot of changes to my reservation once it's booked. If you are the type to make changes, it may be better to go direct with Disney.

Thanks everyone. Its her first time going and she knows nothing about Disney. I told her it would be better to go direct since this is her first time. I will let her read these comments. Plus she doesn't have a lot of free time to do a lot of research. Thanks
