Anyone ever been to Lloret de Mar, Costa Brava?

BF and I are going there for New Year and we're really struggling to find info on it. More importantly, we're trying to find out what we might be able to do on New Years Eve.

Unfortunately our TA is possibly the most useless woman in the world.

I went to the Costa Brava for New Year about 10 years ago

We stayed at Callella (?) which is just up the road and spent New Years Eve in an Irish bar where I had my drink spiked!!

It was an experience to say the least....

You should find plenty to do in Lloret but let me say, keep your drink covered, take some warm clothes (it was FREEEEEZING-well, 8 degrees C but I was expecting more ), and go visit Barcelona where there's a great Christmas shop

I seem to remember something about the locals celebrating the New Year in their homes, before hitting the pubs, but I could be imagining that as I've had a few sleeps since then
