I'm making a trip to Disney in early Dec and was thinking of going south a little further to visit family in palm beach area and was wondering if anyone has been there and has any experience with this camp ground i understand it was hit with a bad hurricane that went through a few years ago and has been cleaned up since any feed back would be great

John Prince Park, holy cow, my old stomping grounds. I've camped there several times about 40 years ago. I'm sure it hasn't changed. :lmao: Actually, it should be pretty nice. It's easy access off of I-95, either the 6th Ave. exit in Lake Worth or the Lantana Rd exit (one more exit south), close to shopping and many of the sites should be on Lake Osborne. Many of the trees were Australian Pines that have a very shallow root system. Those would come down fairly quickly in a hurricane. The sites were nice though. Check it out on Google Earth. You should be able to see if the sites are in good shape by now.
Wow, flashback.....I miss South Florida sometimes.:thumbsup2

John Prince is in our backyard. We stay there on holiday weekends.

They have expanded it and fixed it up quite a bit from the old days but most sites are still like being in a Sardine can. They added sewer to the back sites and paved most of sites. Water sites with fullhookup can be nice but crowded dependingo n the site. We like a site we camp on that is not on the water but has room. I think it is site 78. It does not have a site stuck right next to it on the awning side so it makes it nice. Plus it has several Oaks for shade and a fire pit and bbq grills for use. Site 113 is very nice also. Some of the partial hookup sites on the water have nice spacing between the sites but you have no sewer. They do have a sewer dump to dump your tanks when you leave.

The only problem you might have in finding a nice site is they allow you to rent sites for upto 5 months so nice sites are taken by the snow birds. I think they do make them move every few weeks though.

Overall, it is a halfway decent campground but most spaces are tight.

They do have a map of the campground on the web and here is the link:
