Anyone ever been for just 1 week?

Is it worth it or do you wish you didn't bother? I know that value-for-money-wise it isn't great since the flights are the same price regardless of duration, but if you could only swing a week due to work commitments would you do it? We've booked a week at the end of December since it's the only time we could get off. We'll be sticking to Disney and staying on-site and even thought the parks will be packed out it's all about enjoying the Christmas atmosphere and spending time together than getting on all the rides.

Wd did it when we were younger in 1995. We stayed off site, used suttle busses and didn't have any children.

We did one day at Seaworld, 4 days at WDW and 2 at Universal. It was hard going but we did manage to do a lot. We used the Unoffical Guide for the irst time and followed the plans to the letter. We saw and did more than the previous trip because we had the guide.

However I wouldn't do it again. It was hard going, early starts and trying to cram everything meant we were rushed everywhere. The first couple of days we were tired from the flight and as I was 24 hiring a car was expensive. I would never use shuttles again.

Yeah, we won't be having early starts and won't be trying to cram everything in. We've been before and will be going again, so we won't have a need to make sure we see and do anything, it's more about just being there for the festive atmosphere this time. Hopefully we'll be okay. We went for a week in August 2007 we had been earlier in the year. So like you say you've been before and will go again and won't feel the need to cram it all in. We went with his in mind a found it to be a really relaxed week and would do it again.

We've been for just a week quite a few times as it has had to fit in with home/work commitments and would say go for it! We don't feel the need to rush around trying to do everything but just soak up the atmosphere and go with the flow...

And one of the pluses is that we never feel jet-lagged after a week...

I went for a week on my own just over 2 years ago and had a great time! 2 weeks is better but, like you, I could only get a week off work. I also only did Disney and stayed on site at POP. I thought that it would be pushing it to try and cram anything else in so as long as you pace yourself, you'll be fine.

My motto is 1 week is better than no weeks!!

Been for 7 days but now we do 9 nighters, like May half term we are going on the Thursday come back Saturday, this will be 3rd trip in a row for 9 nights (Oct & Xmas were same)
If its over Xmas I know you say you won't rush about but I would Highly recommend getting in for rope drop, the 1st 2-3 hours each day are critical for short trips IMO, can do more in them 2-3 hours than rest of day once it gets to 10-11am its packed and they start running out of fastpasses. Get there early you can ride and get fastpasses for AM, get in mid AM and the fastpasses are for late afternoon into evening, If any left)
As said 1 week is better than no weeks!!

We went for a week and it was my best trip EVER!!! (I did get engaged though lol) We only did WDW and a bit of shopping we watched all the fireworks had a MNSSHP night watched Nemo musical, and a few parades and still did all the rides

We would have liked longer but it was the best trip and all we could afford at the time

We've done it a couple of times. Since we're DVC owners we know we'll be back many times over the years to come, so we don't feel the need to get up early to cram everything in anymore. We stayed at SSR both times, DH played golf almost every day and I spent time in the parks on my own (which I love since I can go on my favourite rides over and over hehe). The only thing you may want to consider is jetlag. I don't get it, but DH does. It takes him three or four days to recover, and if you only go for a week that may not be ideal, especially if you feel you have to get up early every day to fit in everything you want to do.

One thing I would say - we'd never in a million years go for a week and stay offsite. Having Disney sort out all our transportation needs (including to/from golf courses) is what makes a week's stay workable for us.

Took my wife for 4 nights to the Celebration Hotel. Left the kids at home though, wouldn't go for that length of time with children.

It is a brilliant long weekend location. Tiring but well worth it.

Depends what you are going to do, if its a Disney hol then onsite can work well for some(although we still prefer offsite) but if like us you spend more time away from Disney then doesn't matter where you stay, LBV is perfect for us.
Even onsite we use car everywhere, not a fan of Disney transport, also like to get offsite to eat in the evenings.

We did a girlie week last October and loved it. Only did MK, AK and Universal. Managed to fit in MNSSHP and HHN as well as shopping.

If you can only manage one week then I would say go for it.

we went for a week last feb to plan our wedding, we stayed at pop and it was a really good holiday, we had annual passes and just came and went as wel pleased and it was such a good holiday

My trips have usually only ever been maximum 1 week Orlando, 1 week on the coast because my parents don't really like Orlando, Disney etc

We used to do 3 parks in a week - not necessarily disney parks: usually MK, Universal and Kennedy. On rest days we usually did outlets.

I could happily do 2 weeks but I wouldn't want to go to parks every day!

We went for a week in 2004 (for Valentines Day) with our son, we absolutely loved it the crowds were less than we thought there would be but still okay. We only did WDW though can't imagine trying to fit in anywhere else it would have been too much to deal with for us.

We have done 8 nights, last year did 5 nights and this year we are doing 7 nights (and 14 nights in September ).

We really like to do the short trips and fits in well with work.

We were considering a week's holiday in December as a bonus trip last year (already been in July) but then looking at the prices we could stay for 10 days for hardly any more money. The hubbie had holidays left to use up.

If you could only go for a week I would do it, we are planning to do that once both lads are at uni as a bonus holiday to the main family holiday. I actually enjoyed the bonus holiday better because we didn't feel we had to do everything we wanted to do with already visiting during the year.

We loved going at Christmas time and just being able to soak up the atmosphere was fantastic and to see all the decorations. I would definitely recommend going to see the decorations.

I think your last sentence says it all! Keep that in mind and your week will be fantastic!
