Anyone else's DH not as excited???

My thoughts exactly cynderella!!! My DH is not very involved in the planning...and that is just fine with me!!! I set up all the ADRs, plan out the park days, book the hotels I want...and it completely done the way I want. Our last few trips have gone very smoothly and he has had a wonderful time while we are there, but he knows it's largely because of all the research and planning (and back-up planning, and back-ups for my back-ups!). He puts it completely in my hands. He will ask on occasion how things are going, and I will give input about important things like flight times and how many park days we will buy tickets for, but for the most part it's all me...and that's just the way I like it! :cloud9: Besides, talking to people and getting excited are what the DIS boards are all about!!!!

Ditto to everyone.. but in my DF (darling fiancee)'s defense.. he has never been..nor has he ever really taken this type of family vacation before. I am praying that the Disney magic will rub of him once we get there.. though he did say that if the girls (DD 10 and DD 6) really enjoy it, he is willing to go back every year or two depending on money. So I am a little optimistic that maybe he will begin to be excited. He is looking forward to getting me on roller coasters, I am a bit of a chicken when it comes to them, but said I would go on everything at Disney World. He said next step was Cedar Pointe.

Ugh, I have to vent! :furious: I am so hyped for our next trip to WDW (late Oct) but when I try to talk to DH about travel planning or trip ideas he spews something like "Oh, your the planner...just tell me where to be on what day and I'll be there...". Ugh! I want us to be like the WDW commercial where the mom busts her kids talking about Disney and when she gets back into bed she asks her hubby if he is sleeping and he says, "Nope, too excited." Sorry...I just read so many posts here about DH's helping with the planning or being excited (BTW, you guys are sooooooooo lucky! I am green with envy! :worship: ) that I was hoping there may be 1 other planner out there like me who has no help at all...

Sorry about the vent... :sad2:

My husband is the same. Every time we go to WDW he tells me it is the last time until the girls are out of High School. Well, this trip was ALL his idea. He heard about the free dining and told me to book it. And then proceeded to tell me that he doesn't to talk about Disney until the week before we go. He definately is a SCROOGE! And he claims that will be only to discuss car maintance and travel times, etc. Oh well, I will get my mom to help plan.
Good luck mommy*rn!

Well, I've just begun the planning. We aren't even sure of a date yet. It will be next year sometime. But dh just said yesterday (when I was so excited to have found this site) to not bumbarded him with details. So I'm pretty much approaching this like I approached planning our wedding. I'll do all the work, let him help decide on important things (dates and hotel) and I'll do pretty much the rest. That is pretty much how every vacation works, no matter how big or small.

My DH doesn't even *like* Disney...so I got nothing in the way of planning. I did tell him he could just stay home but he did end up coming. I am planning trip #2 and he still doesn't really want much to do with it, although I get a *little* more input this time as to what he did like & didn't like but I still don't know if he will stay home or go. Drives me crazy.

My Dh's deal is : shut up. show up. pay up.

mommyRN, I feel your pain! My husband is the same thing, I do all the planning and he just goes along for the ride! What upsets me is when he questions my itinerary and wonders why I picked to go to a specific park on a day and then I have to explain to him, the issues of some parks being better on various days due to occupancy or emh or whatever. The fact that he doesn't help is not so much a deal as when he questions my planning.
All in all though he is very greatful for my neurotic tendancies when it comes to Disney trips as it makes for a very stress free vacation once we arrive.
Good luck with your planning and know that you are definately not alone!
