We have finally accepted that we won’t be doing our WDW trip in November this year. It’s made me so sad. It’s been such a tough year and we booked this trip early 2020 just before Covid hit. I know everyone is in the same boat and we can hopefully go in 2022 but I was really looking forward to this visit.

Seeing all the news about the 50th celebrations is such a downer as I was excited to see it all for myself. I know it’s not the end of the world.
But is anyone else feeling the same?

We're due to go in Oct to get married over there and unfortunately, we'll loose a heck lot of money if we have to push back again so keeping everything crossed we can still go as its all nonrefundable 😭
I think we'll give it until end of August then make a decision but this waiting game sucks (as I know it does for everyone else too).
I'm sorry you couldn't go this year but in the past, I believe the celebrations have lasted for about 18 months x

That’s what is worrying me. I just keep seeing myself stirring at home with nothing to do while everyone else is out in Florida enjoying the fireworks lol

Sorry about your wedding. I can’t imagine how stressful that must be for you. I’ll keep my fingers crossed and remain optimistic for you.

Thank you. This is the third time we've had a new date. I just wish Disney weddings were a little understanding but its rebook or loose everything. The thing is, I don't want to rebook until late next year to feel a bit more confident but they only allow a 10 month push back from date of "cancellation" so yay, bring on boiling hot July weather and kids on their school holidays 🙄😅

I booked last year for my 50th. Obviously cancelled, due to go this September which Ive all but written off. The UK rates are simply not very attractive to the US and I doubt that will change this year. I'm pretty sure I'll be at least 52 when I eventually celebrate my 50th 😂🤷‍♂️

I was but we accepted in March this year that it wasn’t going to happen and moved it to next time year. So we have got to the point where we are now over it and looking forward to going next year, we have had to cancel trips before it is hard but you end up with a new trip to get excited about

I am booked for Christmas and am hanging on in there until balance is due near end September. I am thinking its not the worst time for balance to be due as if there is still no movement on border restrictions by September then there is unlikely to be much reason for them to be lifted over the winter months.

I feel sad too. We had finally saved enough to take our kids and we can't. It feels silly saying it anywhere other than here, but I understand how you feel.

Last summer, when some people were going abroad we booked a trip to Disneyland Paris for Feb 2021 as we had a Eurotunnel voucher and the rates were good. Compass Club, free half board. We knew it might not happen from the start, got insurance straight away, everything fully refundable but it was still really sad making the phone call to cancel. I think rather than going through the uncertainty, when we do book wdw it will be last minute. Maybe 30 days before so we can start booking fastpasses straight away (can't see us returning before they're back)

I agree. Winter is always 'more infectious' and flu is apparently making a comeback even now.
The way Europe and UK are playing whack-a-mole with restrictions now can't be inspiring the US much either.

My balance is due early September for late October trip, but as Disney are (usually) good about refunds (no flights booked yet) I may well pay up and hang in until October.

I had an August trip too but let that go, first balance was due mid May and was not comfortable paying balance with borders still closed and our youngest family member is 18 and we still dont know if she will be vaccinated in August or not, as it happens our direct August flights were removed anyway. By Christmas at least we would all be in the fully vacicnated category which would surely help with testing/quarantine situations but still just a waiting game!!

I am keeping my fingers crossed for December. I have lost count of how many times I have postponed and rebooked. US not liking Oxford AZ is concerning.

Another one here with a cancelled 50th birthday celebration from April 2020. Really sad for everyone. I might be in the book last minute camp for 2022 or might try DLP which we have never been to and do wdw in 2023...missing the magic so much! So sorry for those with wedding s planned hope it works ou t for you all.
