Anyone else waiting for a December Ding??

We leave 5wks from Saturday and have no airfare yet!! A friend of mine who travels SWA quite frequently told me just to wait. I'm getting so nervous, though!! I've checked out other airlines for airfare and the best I can find is United, but we'd have to travel at 10:30 at night and miss our complete 1st day there!! Anyone else going crazy...or am I the only crazy one?? I'm going to wind up driving there!

OK, I'm glad I'm not the only one, then!! Thanks, Joan! As of now, it's $92 one way!! They've been having $49-59 one way tickets. I gotta hold out!

We're waiting, too. Right now a RT ticket from Louisville is $236. Saturday we'll be six weeks out and I'm getting a little nervous, too. I don't like to wait this close. I like to have all my ducks in a row. My sister and her DH are going with us. She's the one who keeps telling me to wait. I don't want to drive, that's for sure, but I also don't want to pay $236 per ticket.

I feel your pain, everyone. I too was waiting and waiting and getting very nervous I bought my Nov./Dec. ding tickets last year in SEPTEMBER and got a great rate of $28 each way. I cant believe it is pretty much Nov. and they dont have dings out past Nov. 20th. I needed Dec. 16-23 and was worried (about being able to get tickets) because the return flight is the Sat before Christmas. I ended up booking Allegiant Air out of our home airport. Big down side- they only have one flight out and its at 6:30 pm and arrives at 8:30 pm AND I have to fly into Sanford. I just felt like I had to buy because like the previous poster, I DONT want to drive. Got the tickets for $69 each way, but I sure felt like I could do better with SW- I just cant keep waiting on them though. The up side, I dont have to drive 3 hrs to RDU.

I hear ya. I leave in 35 days and don't have tickets yet!!! Arrgggh! It's driving me nuts. Everything is still wide open and every morning, I think today's going to be the day . . . but all that's popping up is NOV 20!!!!! I'm afraid to leave the house, for fear that I'll miss it.

DD13 and I are leaving in 34 days, I already have our tickets purchased by I'm waiting for a sale or DING fare so I can change our return date since I just booked a 3-day cruise on the Wonder as part of our plans. Right now it would cost me close to $200 to change the date based on current fares so I'm going to stick it out, I know there soon to come!!

It would be funny to think of the SW folks reading these boards and laughing at the stress there causing us all!! "Let's make them wait ANOTHER week!!"

Yeah, I've been checking the flights daily. They're $92 one way from Chicago. They've been $39-59 on a Ding sale. Plus the times we want are not available now.

Keep watching those flights, sometimes flights that become unavailable become available again in the following weeks, but it usually doesn't take long before they're unavailable again so you need to watch them daily as you've been doing.

IN FACT check a lot during the day. 1st thing i do when I power up the puter is check dings if any show ... then I go into the scheduled flights. Tonight at 1st it was $147. within 15 minutes (YUPPERS 15 minutes) it dropped to $54! I snagged it fast since I couldn't wait to make sure we would get return seats on a non-stop flight!

AHHHH!! Just checked now and they have $59 flights but not on what i want on our way there!!!

At last!! The MHT-MCO fares are back down to $59 which is what I paid in August, got my return flight changed to 2 days later at no charge so now DD and I are all set to add the 3-day DCL cruise into our WDW plans next month. And no fees to do so, that's what I love about Southwest!!
