Ok, here is the deal. The hubby, two kids (13,11) and I go to Disney three times a year. We love Disney, and our last three trips we have taken other folks with us (we have the room covered at BLT). So all they need to get is park tix and some meals...we treat on the expensive ones, since we make the ressies...

So....for our trip coming up in September we cannot find one friend that would like to go!!! We have asked four different people and have no takers!

I can't figure it out! I would be all over it if someone asked me to go...has anyone else ever had this problem? Just wondering...

Yep.....I'm here solo right now because I couldn't find anyone to go. I have taken many people with me and all I ask them to pay is airfare. I cover room, tickets and dining plan. So many people shrug their shoulders and decline....i don't get it either.

That's weird.....they all need their heads examined lol no seriously, I do find that odd....who wouldn't jump at a cheap Disney trip?

It's a very generous offer, but I wouldn't be concerned or offended. There could be numerous reasons people don't want to or can't go:

-Kids are back in school in September.
-Work could be busy that time of year.
-Your friends could have their vacation time/money allocated elsewhere.
-Some people may prefer privacy vs. sharing a hotel room with another family.
-Money is tight for many people these days. Even with just tickets and meals the expenses add up.
-Some people may feel uneasy having you pay for large portions of their vacation.
-Not everyone wants to go to Disney World

The good news is, this way you'll be able to spend some quality time with your family, doing the things you enjoy!

Thanks for the replies.....you guys are making me feel sane again!

What kind of friend were you planning on taking, a friend of one of your kids or you?

I think it would be weird to have an adult friend come with you and stay in your room and pay for some the meals.

This year will be our 3rd trip with an adult friend staying with us. It's not weird at all to us.

But do you pay the friend's meals?

I'm really thinking the OP is talking about a kid friend.

AH, I think I got you now. You're saying it's "unusual" for an adult to cover the expenses of another adult.

Hey, OP here....yes, I mean adult friends...

We have never taken one of my kiddo's friends...always mine.

I only offer to pay if its like Citrico's and I ask them to come with us, not 50s PTC or like Sci-Fi. I never want someone to feel bad or uncomfortable...

My family just "knows how to plan a Disney trip" and we want others to benefit from that knowledge.

I hate having folks come back and say they hated it....yet they didn't plan correctly....I know I am weird!
