Anyone Else Upset About The Castle????

They do try to do work at nights. However, major renovations just can't be rolled away every morning for "guests"

It is my understanding you could still get nice pictures of the castle from the side or back, w/o seeing the green wall around the hub. Need to see more pictures to get an idea of how bad it is.

The big question is how and when are they going to put up the gold decorations on the castle itself for the celebration???

According to your signature, you're going in June. All refurbishment of the castle will be completed by May 5, 2005, in time for the big worldwide celebration. You might want to check on completion dates before you get so upset.

:earsboy:

I changed my signature after I rescheduled my trip yesterday. It was originally Feb 5-15th.

We plan on June now, with several attractions down as well that I LOVE and ones coming like "SOARIN", I would rather wait a couple of months and feel like I am getting my moneys worth. We dont go often, and it could be a last time we are there for awhile, so hopefully you all understand at where I am coming from. The "wall" was just icing on the cake, sort of speak, to why I should just wait a couple of months. Our daughter will also not have to miss school, a plus as well!

I too am curious to see a pic....anyone know why the wall is green? Did they pick that color for a reason??

What is the best time to visit the Green Wall? Are the lines busy in the morning? What about right after dinner? Can I get a Fast Pass for the Green Wall? I heard that the Green Wall was recently closed down for repair, can anybody confirm? My family loves the Green Wall!

Well now I know the wall is there, does anyone have an idea when it will be gone? We are going Feb. 12-19. I don't think I have seen the orignally castle in awhile. The last time we were there it was a big pink birthday cake!! And they were just started to turn it back the way it was so it was sort of 1/4 original and 3/4 pink!! :earseek:

This isn't interferring with getting into the castle is it? I have reservations to eat the day before the place shuts down.....or so I thought!

You might want to get used to the green refurbishment walls, it's only the beginning of what WDW is doing in 2005 for "The Happiest Celebration". If you look at the photos, a little hassle like a small wall if front of the castle will be nothing compared with the end result. The following links show the final plans for what is going to be an incredibly beautiful addition to Cinderella Castle! Well worth a little inconvience, IMO!

ROYAL TREATMENT -- During "The Happiest Celebration on Earth," Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom will become a celebration of Disney magic around the world. Graceful gold filigree will adorn its turrets. Banners, ribbons and tapestries will breeze from balconies.

Incredible golden Disney icons will sparkle across the castle -- Cinderella's glass slipper, Beast's enchanted rose. Golden images of Peter Pan and his friends will fly carefree in the sky high on the tallest spire. There will be a delightful Disney surprise from every angle. And in the middle of it all, a magical palate of ever-changing stained glass above the castle's great archway will shine with a breathtaking view of the five Disney castles from around the world.

Oh WOW!! :earseek: Thanks for posting those. Looks like the castle is going to be quite impressive! I'm so glad we'll see it in December!!! :cool1:

Oh, wow, it looks beautiful - so much better than that pink birthday cake a few years back.

We are going in April so I imagine the ugly wall will still be there, but I choose to look on the bright side of things: if it looks that bad maybe if we complain enough about how our trip was ruined and all the mental anguish that ensued, Disney will give us a partial (or maybe even full) refund on our tickets! :earboy2: ;)

You would think that an entity built on "fantasy".....one that prides itself on creating attractions with attention to the most minute detail.....would be able to come up with something better than a green wood wall! How about one that is made to look like a stone wall or something?!?!

eww i Hope its gone by my trip. i think that the overlays to the castle are going to be really pretty (unlike the big pink cake, but i endured that too) but i just wish they were going to be done with it my march not may... oh well....

The castle is going to be gorgeous if those pics are any indication!! Wow!!!!! I'm jealous that I won't get to see it like that on my upcoming trip!!

ROFL!

Thanks for the beautiful pictures Laugh o. Gram.

I didn't know anything about the upcoming celebration, but sure glad I made ressies for June.

Does anyone know how long the castle will stay like that?

The "Celebration" will begin May, 2005 and will last until the end of August, 2006 (I believe). Who knows how long they'll leave it like that after it's over is anyone's guess.

Thanks for the links to the pics!

Now for the up side. How long will the castle decorations be up? Or will they be permanent? We're going in November and I'm wondering if we'll get to see them.
