I've decided to quit bothering with RTV because I simply cannot get a shopping spree prize. The auction bids are ridiculous amounts. I have DSL but still cannot get anything. Today I tried and everything was fine. I refreshed at 4:29...and the page did not come back up until 4:31!!! By the time I clicked on the Burger King bucks, clicked on yes, I want one, typed in my password...everything was gone! I'm so thoroughly disgusted with trying and trying and never getting anything. I quit!

Thanks for allowing me to vent. I feel a bit better now. :badpc:

I've never been able to get anything either.

Me neither. Had the same problem as you today, tried getting to the Shopping Spree page a few minutes before, and the page took about 4 minutes to load (and I have DSL).

Grrrrr...tried again, same thing. I refreshed 5 seconds before 1:00 and the page came up instantly. I refreshed again exactly at 1:00 and the page took **4 MINUTES** to come back up! Grrrrr...of course by then it's too late to get anything.

Its a pain in the butt. I managed to get one a few weeks ago, but haven't had any luck since.

Reward TV

Watch television during prime time then the next day go answer trivia questions on specific shows/commercials to earn points. Then the points can be used to enter drawings, get gift certificates in Shopping Sprees (what the above posters are trying to do....very hard to get these prizes), or use your points to bid on auctions. You can earn tons of points but there is a limit to how many "games" you can play a day. You can also earn bonus points for answer short surveys and trivia questions.

If you get stumped by a show question or commercial question there is a board you can go to for help. IF you want that site someone will have to PM it to you since it always gets deleted here. ;)

If someone would email or PM that site I would appreciate it...just in case I decide to earn more points when I'm done being mad at RTV, LOL.

I'd like the board address too, please. This could be addictive. ;)

I have won a few things. This is how I did it. I went to the website, made sure I was logged on, went to shopping spree and hit shop now. About two minutes before it was about to begin I kept refreshing the page. Eventually "buy now" appears under the item in green. Then went on to get it. I tried this about 3 times with the idea that I was not going to win so that I could write down detailed instructions. I also found that you should try to win the item that has more than the other items because they don't sell out that quickly. It does work. Don't give up. If you are still having trouble winning and are really ready to give up, I would be willing to try and win with your points (and log in). I hate to see anyone losing their points.

Don't give up!! People really do win. I've won several...

Good luck!!

That is what I've been doing but the page never comes up...well, it does eventually, but it takes several minutes and I have DSL. By the time it comes up everything is gone. I'll keep trying and let you know how it goes.

I liked playing the games, but until recently was never able to get the rewards. I racked up over 900,000 pts, but couldn't do anything with them. Then a few weeks ago I thought I'd try again. I've gotten GC's the last three times I've tried. I think the key is to go straight for the $5 ones. I've never been able to get the bigger ones. BTW, I have a dial-up modem.

Does anyone know the answer to today's trivia question?

Well, I just tried again. I refreshed at 3:00 and after waiting 7 minutes for the page to come back up I quit. Maybe I am not meant to have any of those GC's, LOL.

As Mal pointed out before, you have to log on about 10 minutes prior to the time offered, and keep clicking around so you stay logged in. The key is to stay logged in. About a minute before the time comes up hit the next shopping spree link, and keep hitting it, once things slow down it is because it is loading the prizes to make them available. Do not quit or go click happy, once it comes up hit what you want immediately and hit order on the next page and process order on the next page. Finally it will tell you that you were sucessful and your points will show the amount of the prize deducted from your account immediately. I have a very slow dial up and I usually get $5.00 cards about once per month, since taking Mal's advice!:worship: Keep trying or get a ridiculously high total and bid for something on the auctions. It was around 3:10 when I finally completed my transaction today. I hope you have better luck next time you try. :wizard:

That's what I've been doing, but the page doesn't come back up. Today it took longer than usual even, and I just closed it out at 3:07. The last few times it came up at 3:04, I clicked on the $5 reward, added it to my cart, then got the "sorry, none available" message or whatever it says. I'll keep trying. It's starting to turn into a "mission" now.

That 's the spirit treat it like a quest! I must admit there have been many weeks when I really @#&%! that I'm sure that they could set that site up to work more effectively. You are right, today it really dragged, and check out was a bit different--it is set up to let you just auto order the one item you are allowed to order-- not to enter a quantity. I was sure they wouldn't have anything left when it clicked with a confirmation and the points were deducted. I wish they had a more effecient system!:crazy2:

I too haven't had any luck in being able to "cash in" my points. I still try every now & then but don't try to do it weekly anymore. Everytime I get frustrated with them, I remind myself that I am still ahead of the game( I won a sweepstakes through them last year & got $50). Plus RTV is a nice break when doing all your other clicks:p
