Some of the other posts made me realize that I was a Disney "perfect" backpack/fannypack-o-holic. Considering the amount of either disney logo/character items I have or just bags in general that at one time I have believed would be perfect for the world.

Disney logo tote, logo backpack, Mickey fanny pack Mickey retro backpack, princess fanny pack, lilo and stich fanny pack, minnie backpack, not to mention non-disney coolers, backpacks ...

The same goes for finding the "perfect" stroller for Disney. One that folds compactly but provide recline, that has cupholders but not too bulky, that washes dishes but also has a basket. lol

I think I am Disney nuts. Am I alone?

Right now we are in the process of trying to find the "perfect stroller" for our upcoming WDW trip. Exactly the features you described.

I too own a "Mickey Mouse" backpack. I not only take it to WDW but on other vacations also, such as Las Vegas. I probably look pretty silly walking up and down the Vegas strip with my MM backpack.

Although I have used fannypacks in the past (I have 3 in a box). I have found I perfer a long strap purse that I wear across my body. I would love to find the perfect small MM purse with a long strap. If anyone out there knows where I could find one, let me know.

Graco has a princess and baby mickey strollers for $39 They are the umbrellas ones but alittle bigger. Sears is selling them as well. Go to gracos site to find it. There was a post on this yesterday.

ROFL! We went to Busch Gardens yesterday and I spent the whole day eyeing everyone's strollers.

It's amazing how much thought & angst one goes thru trying to find the perfect stroller!

I have 40-something days to decide what we're going to do as far as strollers go for our trip. I need more time! LOL

DH says he will leave me if I buy a new stroller for this trip (Sept). My son is 2.5 and we have so many, a jogger etc, but none that like the one I found via this board...

It is a sickness.

It is a sickness. I just bought a Maclaren Volo with accessory pack even though I have no trip planned yet (it does not recline but boy is it nice) (did I mention my DD is 5? But hey we may have another someday...) and just bought a new backpack. (Its a picnic backpack, cooler section, dry section ,lots of outside pockets and an attached water(wine) cooler sleeve on the side that fits my Brita perfectly.

I just know they are "perfect" for Disney.lol

Now I just need a trip to test it out. Help... I am addicted...

I had a rolling suitcase that had a garmet attachment. Great bag but a bit too big to take on a plane even though it was advertised as a carry on so I bought a smaller rolling bag for a trip to Disney in 1998-also used for my next trip in 2001 and other places. Then I planned my first trip with my DD in 2002 and purchased a large rolling bag so I could take just one suitcase. I found myself looking at duffle bags for my Oct trip but have decided I really don't need anyother suitcases!

Now for the strollers.....I purchased a MacLaren single stroller for that 2002 trip with my oldest. What a great stroller! Has seen lots of use at home. Then I purchased a double MacLaren for my Jan 04 trip with all 3 children. Another great stroller that has seen lots of use at home but the baby hates it-she doesn't want to share her space with an older sibling. Now I'm planning my 3rd trip to Disney with children and am looking to buy my 3rd "Disney" stroller. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get the Peg Pergo Pliko P3-so much more comfortable for baby, larger canopy, has a snack tray, stands when folded and has a running board for an older child. How can I resist?

Daisylove-that backpack sounds perfect for us too. Where do you get it? My DH would not leave the cooler I brought last year in the stroller so this sounds like a good option for him! I already bought a new "lunch" size cooler for the trip but yours sounds better. I think the MacLaren will be perfect for you DD. I'm just think my 21 month old will find the Peg Perego more comfortable-gotta keep the baby happy!

The only thing that I did not like about the Graco that Sears has
is the way that it folds.
I have a regular umbrella stroller that folds lengthwise ?? and it is easy to carry.
Has anyone carried the Graco around? Like on and off buses, etc?
Thanks for any advice.

Hi LovesDumbo

This is my first Maclaren so it is good to hear good reviews. The backpack is great! I have already used it at our local seaquarium and it was "perfect" I got mine at our local Supermarket Publix. I had seen it on line but the price at publix was only $19.99. Check out your local supermarkets now that the summer stuff is being clearanced. I am adding a link that shows one similar (ours had service for 4 which I removed for the dry area) but at a much greater price. You could probably find other online much cheaper.

Good luck. and thanks for the sharing of this illness.

WOW....I guess I'm not alone in my quest for the perfect Disney stroller. I didn't realize that there was a name for this process!!! My DD is not yet 6 months old and we already have 4 strollers..... a cheap ($12.99) disney umbrella stroller for walking around the neighborhood...... A Universal carseat holder......the Combi Ultra Savvy that I recently orderd but haven't yet seen.......and a "regular" old stroller I got for a good price........For all this, I could have just bought one of the best, top of the line!!!!

We have to Combi Ultra Savvy stroller along with too many other strollers in my garage. We did not like the Combi because the handle bar is too short and when my DH and I would push it we would be constantly kicking the back wheels. It was such a pain. We finally decided on ordering a Maclaren Volo in Poppy red. It is really nice and pushes like a dream. The handles are so high and we do not kick the wheels when we push. It does not have a recline, but my DD likes to always sit up anyway. When she does fall asleep she still looks pretty comfortable, since the mesh fabric kind of cradles her without her slumping over. Also, make sure you get the Protect a Bub sunshade for which ever stroller you decide on. This ties on over your exsisting sunshade and completely blocks the sun off of your child, their legs and all. It is totally adjustable so you can fold it up with you other canopy if you wish!!! Also the Babu Go Anywhere Tray fits the Maclaren or other strollers to provide you with cupholders, that most umbrella strollers do not have!

Good Luck,

I'm glad we are finally done with our stroller purchases!!!:wave2:

Jweiss-you make me feel a lot better! I've got 4 strollers and thinking of buying a 5th but I have 3 children of stroller age. I have read that complaint about the Combi and even though I love my MacLaren and found it was the perfect stroller for my 3 1/2 year old at Disney I would NOT reccomend it for your 6 month old. I will probably buy the Peg Perego Pliko P3 for our Oct trip for our then 21 month old. It stands when folded, has a snack tray, has a huge canopy, has a running board for a 2nd child, allows baby to sit up, has more padding (comfort) for baby.... I could make due with the MacLaren but I think my baby will be happier in the Pliko.

Daisylove-Thanks for the photo. I saw a backpack cooler at Ocean State Job Lot for $6.99 but it didn't have much of a "dry" pouch. I'm going to the outlet mall tomorrow so I'll check out the Coleman's store and William Sonoma-maybe they'll have them or I'll check my local drug and grocery stores.

I had considered the complaint about the leg space, but since I'm 5'2" and a single parent, I decided that shouldn't be a problem. Will be here in a few days and I'll see!!!!! Thanks....

I just bought a huge roomy backpack complete with two water bottle holder pouches on each side. Tons of pockets both big and little.

CVS $9.99

I have only one child - almost 3 and I have been thru 5 strollers!!!! I loved my first one but wore it out and it is now too bulky for what I would need anyway. I have been thru 3 others and now my 5th. It is a Baby Trend umbrella like stroller but doesn't fold "true" umbrella style. Plus my almost 40 inch tall daughter is getting to big for it. After MUCH studying and testing and looking thru past comments here, I purchaed the Schwinn umbrella stroller. I completely LOVE it. It has everything I wanted except a cupholder. Here is a pic and info on it if you are interested in it....

Suzanne74 I had the earlier version of this stroller made by Instep. I loved it. Just watch out on the foot strap. My DD used it to step into the stroller all the time and it ended up tearing loose in Epcot right after Illuminations so it was impossible to push her in it i the crowds because her feet hit the wheels. If I had checked it maybe I could have got the company to fix it before it became a problem. Other than that you will love it.
