What the heck is Glow Fest about? We were there recently and did experience it, but why is this around? Is it there for people to kill time while they wait for World of Color to start?
For those of you not familiar with what it is, it's basically an outdoor rave Disney style complete with dancing, loud thumping music, florescent colors, and booze. I'm not that over the hill, I'm in my early 30's and can appreciate the music and party scene - never cared much for dancing or drinking. I think what's bothering me is the drinking and availability of alcohol, I don't know how strong the very expensive drinks are but did see a few DISers acting like DisDrunkards. It's a family dance party but I really don't think alcohol should be involved. The Disneyland park and customer service are in a different universe compared to other theme parks in the So. Cal area (Six Flags, Knott's Berry Farm, Sea World, and especially Universal Studios) so why lower their standards with California Adventure? Fine, if they want to have a Napa area with wine then keep the alcohol there, the margaritas and beer never really made much sense but I don't think Glow Fest should include alcohol, it's not appropriate when young kids are still around, the party attracts teens so this is not a good example, and it's just very tacky and low for Disney standards. The Vacation timeshare stands and Chase credit card booth are bad enough, soon they'll have poor CMs offering free bags with every credit card application as they do at Universal Studios.
