Anyone else that can't justify going back, even w/ free DP?

We just got back from 6 heavenly days at BWI w/ the DP and now I see the free dining, and we have the Disney VISA .. But, if we went back, w/ hotel, tickets, airfare, etc. it would still be $1500 to $2000 for the three of us, depending on whether we stay at a value or moderate - anyone else feeling that way?

Feeling the EXACT same way. I'm going in May, and went last November, and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to take advantage of free dining, but it just doesn't look like it'll be in the cards, when I take into account hotel, tickets, and airfare. So I feel your pain!

Nope I can always justify Disney! We just got back the 10-18 of this month and I'm planning on being up first thing in the morning to book free dining!!!!

Sorry, I just justified mine today. We went for 9 days in February. We leave in 3 weeks for a 12 night stay at BWV (4/23-5/5). And I just finished making my October reservations 10/15-27 at BWV. Now they announce free dining. OK, I had to sleep on it and finally today I figured, looks alike a long weekend in my future. So I booked a 4-night stay (8-17-21). Pop for 4 nights, 2 adults, 2 one-day tickets, free dining: total $483. Two airfare tickets out of Wash. DC @ $161 each. Rental car: $120. Being an AP holder has it's advantages, because we have no tickets to buy and will use the 2 one-day tickets to our next renewal.

I knew I find some justifiers (maybe thats what I was looking for) . Hum - DD14 doesn't have to go back to school until 8/25 - but its so hot that time of year -but free food - but we just got back... I guess I'll pour myself a Margarita and think about it some more - how late is DW res open?

Not too hard for us to justify either. We don't gamble, drink, or smoke, have basic cable (only $11 a month), pay off our credit card in full each month, etc. Our two vices are going out to eat and Disney. This combines the best of both. We'll be in DL for the 1st time in June and already booked our Christmas trip to WDW, but just couldn't pass this one up.

To me, spending the $2000 this trip will cost is well earned. I work hard at my teaching job and could use as much fun during the down times as possible. That said, we can afford it. I certainly wouldn't go into debt for one week of fun, regardless of how much fun Disney is.

I could justify it just fine :) - but it took a lot to convince DH!

Our first trip 12/04 was supposed to be a "one & only" trip.

I managed to convince him to upgrade to APs while we were there - so we could go back fall 05 for MNSSHP.

My parents joined us for part of that trip - their first time. They liked it so much that they decided to pay for the entire family to go back 12/06.

DH figured that since we're going in Dec., we didn't need to go this fall.

Not sure what made him change his mind, but we're going. :)

I was in a similar situation because we just bought APs and had already planned to go in April, June, October, and December. But then I thought maybe we should move our October trip to September for free dining, but I don't want to give up MNSSHP so for me it wasn't worth it. Free dining is nice, but not that big of a deal. Give me the good old days with room only codes!!! :thumbsup2 Then I'll think about changing. ;)

If you go the end of Sept into Oct, you can do MNSSHP & have free dining. That's what we're doing.

I've been wanting to bring my oldest son down in August for the Buccaneers training camp, so this was the perfect excuse! Sitting here patiently waiting for 7:00 so I can book!!

We already have ressies for Thanksgiving week. I told DH we could save $1300 with free dining if we go the last week of August. DH said NO!!! He doesn't want to go In August... to hot!

So no free dining for us, we are keeping our Thanksgiving ressies!

5 days, 4 nights for one adult and two kids at a Value resort for $500...absolutely justified the trip even though we were just there this past week.

It'll actually be more than that for the entire trip, but well under $1,000 all-inclusive. I ordered with one-day MYW passes. I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade them to 5-day passes or if we'd rather do some off-site things this trip (like Seaworld, Universal Studios, etc). Either way, the tickets will only amount to a few hundred more than the current cost. We'll probably drive again, unless SW comes up with another $39/each way deal. If we fly it'll add a bit to the cost, but it might be worth it due to the time savings.
