Anyone else snowed in?

Well it started snowing an hour ago. Got all my errands done, car is gassed up, oil, and washer fluid.

Of course had to go to WalMart and grocery store for emergency french toast, lol. Actually I bought cheese and rolls for my slow cooker roast beef for hot roast beef sandwiches for dinner tonight. Yum. It was packed of course.

DD's school was called early and she is already home.

Now I can clean, do laundry, dishes, catch up on some TV series and watch it snow.:yay:

They upped it 5" total. We will see. It is falling at a good clip right now.

Stay safe everyone!:goodvibes

We ended up about 8 inches. Meh, not a lot, LOL.

I did get stuck a bit at the end of the driveway. Normally after a decent snow, they come around 4 days later and plow our road. This morning, they plowed it sometime before 5 am at my surprise when I heard the crunch of my car popping on top of the thrown snow at the end of the driveway. Lucky I was still able to pull forward and hammer it out onto the road.

8 inches isn't anything to fret about, this is north western Pennsylvania for crying out loud. But they've been talking about it coming for the past 2 days, yet nothing other than surprisingly my road in the middle of nowhere seemed to be plowed. Had to stop at the store and there was no way I was pulling into the parking lot, and if I could, I definitely wasn't going to get out. I kept going to stop at another store closer to work, then remembered I was stopping to grab something for lunch. There's no where else that would have something for lunch. Had to turn around, go past again, come back around again so I could pull in front of the parts store where I'd be facing out to the road and downhill. Figured I could get out of that.

Then I had to sit out in the parking lot 10 minutes waiting for the plows to clear out the lot. No way I could have pulled into a space in that deep of snow at parking lot speeds. I would have been stuck halfway into a space.

It's never like this in the mornings, especially when we've known it was expected to snow for 2 days. Usually everything, roads, parking, is cleared out by 5 am.

We ended up with 12". Wife and daughter are hone on snowday. I drove 50 miles to work.

We got a mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain that put another 1-3 inches on top of we already have. Unfortunately, it was hell trying to shovel out the driveway with it being very slushy and heavy to lift :headache: I just did a path from the house to the driveway and then around both our cars so we could get into it. I usually do the driveway in front of the car(s) to the street and mailbox, but could only do a little due to the heaviness of it. I didn't even do our sidewalk to our other driveway. Too heavy. By tomorrow it will all be ice.

No school for us again today. Gotta love those 5:00am phone calls :rotfl2:

I am also on Long Island, and I had to work today. The 15 minute drive took about an hour, the ice was the worst. DH drove a truck for a living, and he was scared. If the truck drivers are worried, you know that you are in trouble.

That being said, stay warm and dry, everyone! Another storm on the way for the weekend. With DD's birthday Friday, I am hoping I can just go out and get her something!
