Today is my DDs 9th birthday :cake: , and we decided when we saw that this movie was coming out on the 3rd that we would see it on her birthday - Aquamarine being her birthstone, and her love of mermaids made it the perfect movie.

After a really nice early afternoon at DTD for lunch at Rainforest Cafe, some playing in the "jumping water" and a little shopping, we went to see the movie. Now I didn't have great expectations for the movie - it just seemed it would be cute. I've learned to endure movies that entertain DD, that would not necessarily be my choice!

Well, it was really a good movie - a good "girl" movie. The theater was filled with moms and daughters - some seemed to have made a party out of it as there were large groups together! The story was nice, I thought the acting was good - and the actor who played the male lead can't think of his name- well nice eye candy even to this 40something! I even cried!:sad1:

On the way out of the theater while waiting for DD at the rest room, I overheard several different moms say... I thought this would be boring, but it was actually very good!!!!"

So I give this movie a :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2, it will make a nice birthday memory!

Tomorrow morning we are off to the Grand Floridian for brunch at 1900 Park Fare and some time at MK with a friend (and the parents) of my DD!

I'm boycotting the movie. I read the book, and it is now one of my favorite books. By the looks of the movie, they ruined it. The Aquamarine book compared to the movie (by the commercials) looks like the book Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and having the movie without the Chamber. (That didn't make any sence, did it?)

Good to know! I didn't know about the book, I will have to find it for DD. We are waiting for the video to come out to buy. It cost less to buy the video than take the family out for the night.
