Anyone else sad to see summer go?

I am just reflecting on our beach trips and the laid back care free ways of summer. Kids have been in school 1 week and it has hit me! I want summer back !

You know we don't get much sun here (UK) anyway even in Summer and I know I should be grateful for the sunshine we've had in August but I'm quite looking forward to those nights drawing in and the crisp autumn smelling mornings where you see the dew in the morning September sunlight. If we could just have 2 seasons Autumn and Summer that'd suit me just fine

Yes - I'm going to miss summer. We've had a great amount of sunshine this summer - more than normal. I'm not looking forward to the grey fall and winter days here - and we have lots of them in Ohio!

At least I can look forward to DIS CON II and sunshine in FL! I'm going to renew my AP, and hopefully can slip away for a short time in early spring, too! The older I get, the more I need that sunshine!

I'm going to miss the easy pace of summer. Fall activities start up and then I'm going from one children's activity to another. Count me in as sad.

I am a true Floridian, I should be grateful for the long summers we have, but I want it YEAR round. I dread thinking about fall& winter clothing(about the same thing in N. FL), kids activities, sicknesess etc. The way the sun is shining today very much reminded me of the fall. It is in the 90's though. I just lOVE summer and enjoying the kiddies... I want to go back to the beach and enjoy the sand, the pool the lounge chairs and the family...no worries. I guess it is what summer means that I will miss the most.

I've just put my feet up - having cleared away the remains of our bbq.
"No big deal" you're probably saying Stateside - but this is the West Coast of Scotland - and it was the 3rd bbq of the Summer!!

An entire weekend of sunshine - low 70's temp.

We spent the whole day talking and planning the 'itenerary'of our upcoming trip to Florida.
'Do we do Blizzard Beach & Typhoon Lagoon?' - are the kids, (5 & 7), ready for the Kennedy Space Centre? - Will I take my wife and the MIL to Hooters!! - Do we have another 'Volcano'at the Rainforest Cafe?

Summer ?? It has only just started

Yes and no. We had a fun summer, but I am tired of the humidity! I'm ready to open up the house for the crisp cool breezes! But, I am not ready for winter to be stuck inside either!

I, too, am having serious end of summer blues. Especially since I work at a school and we begin tomorrow! YUCK! I LOVE the slow, relaxed pace of summer --it's so much less stress than during the school year. I'm worse than my kids. We are definitely beach kind of people and we didn't get to go as much this summer as we're doing major renovations on our home. Oh well, I really have no choice.....

I am always so sad to see Summer go. I truly dislike Fall, even though it is beautiful here during the autumn months. Its just a sad time for me for some reason, maybe because I know the dreaded winter is right around the corner.

I'll so miss letting my kids stay up late, going to the local produce stand and picking up fresh peaches and tomatos and corn on the cob, going to the pool every day. Geez, now I am making myself sadder, so I'll stop.

Ah, there is always next summer to look forward to.

It was such a hot summer, with so little rain. I'll miss it, though. It's great to be able to swim, and go around with wet hair. Lie out in the sun! I need to move to a year round warm climate zone.

August is one of the best months to view the milky way. It's good star gazing weather in the late evenings, better than the really cold months anyway. Summers always go too fast...

back to work Tuesday, driving the school bus, but this is what enables us to go to disney world, so I'm gratefull, but I hate the winters here in Cleveland, the barren trees for 6 months and NO SUN for 6 months! I'm getting depressed bye! goof

I'm not letting it go without a fight!! It's been one of the hottest summers on record here in the Philly area, but I'll take that over icy roads, shoveling snow and wind that whips through layers of clothes so hard that it makes your bones hurt and freezes your face!!

Nope, I'm not letting it go without a fight! I'm not putting my shorts and flip flops away until Thanksgiving weekend. I'm not covering up the grill until the first snow fall and there is no way I'm putting out any sort of Autumn decoration until all the leaves have fallen off the trees!!

Nope, I'm not letting it go without a fight!! I'm gonna have bbq chicken, watermelon and lemonade, while everyone else is having roast beef, gingersnaps and apple cider. I'm gonna swim in the pool on Labor Day. I'm gonna wear my hair up until my ears get frost bite!!!


I hate when summer ends!!!
