Help! For the first (and last) time in our lives we have splurged and are stopping at a Mod for our Disneymoon. POFQ for 13 days from 26/11/11. Now if you've seen anything on the US Resirts board you probably know that this is when the little angels (and their parents) called the Pop warner competitors will be at WDW, more specifically all crammed into POFQ as their normal Mod (POR) is having a refurb.

I am now pooping myself that our Disneymoon will be ruined by foul mouthed kids and their parents behaving obnoxiously-I get enough of that at home, thanks! :headache:

Does anyone know if we can upgrade when we get there to a Deluxe or is it not-do-able? we have already paid the balance on the holiday-2 days ago! Has anyone had experience of the little angels and can reassure me?
I knew something would go wrong with this blooming wedding! :scared1:

Please someone, tell me I'm over-reacting!!

I can't say if you're over reacting as my only experince of Pop Warner week was in 2008 and we were staying offsite, but to be honest we never saw them in the parks at all so i don't think they have any affect on crowd levels.
This year we arrive on 3rd Dec, the same day as them and we are staying onsite, we are on a budget and could only afford a value resort, i really wanted All Stars as we have stayed at Pop before and although we liked it we wanted to try somewhere different, but after reading about Pop Warner we decided Pop Century was a safer bet.
I was worried about them overflowing there but after lots of research it sounds as if Disney are quite good about moving people if they complain about noise, i've read about people being moved to CBR, CSR and even the Poly. I wouldn't worry too much and i certainly wouldn't change your booking if you can't really afford to.

Well I can set YOUR mind at rest *** we were at Pop during pop warner week 2008! never saw hide nor hair of them!:) Maybe we should have stuck with a Value but for once in my life I wanted to live a little!
We haven't actually told any family yet that we're getting hitched-maybe they'll all give us loads of cash and we can pay for an upgrade:lmao:

Have a great time-if you see a fat little lump in brides ears being carted away for slapping obnoxious brats, you'll know its me! If you see an big bloke ripping off his Grooms ears saying "Never saw her before in my life" you know its DH2B!!:rotfl2:

seam to remember that they put the kids in the values and the adults stay in the mods so you should be ok

We were there for Pop Warner last year. We were staying in the Dolphin and didnt see any kids aroudn the boardwalk or in the parks.

But based on the reviews on these boards I avoided POR because of it (I really wanted to stay there!) Could you see how much they would charge you to swap to CSR (which is lovely!!). I just would not want to be worrying about it on the run up to my wedding.

We were at the All Stars in 2008 when Pop Warner were there and I can honestly say the only time we came across them was the day they were leaving and they were all waiting in the food court to leave, never came across them at the parks either. We were dreading it but needn't have worried.

From what i hear the adults are the worst-at least the kids can't drink....

We stayed at all star movies pop warner 2009. I have also stayed offsite during pop warner 2007.

There weren't many at our hotel - just saw one group of cheerleaders at breakfast and tbh only noticed because the leader had a huge tray of choc muffins to give out.

All star sports had lots of coaches outside - I assumed they were there.

We didn't notice them in the parks. One mvmcp I noticed a lot of pop warner there - it was alot busier than the other night we did.

Who have you booked with? If disney direct can you ring and see how much to switch and stress it is your honeymoon.

We stayed at the rosen on i drive one xmas when a cheerleading tournament was there. They were well behaved but it was a nightmare if they were moving en mass and we were trying to go the opposite way. They had to check in at the lobby at 9.30pm completely tying up the lifts. Luckily their schedule was posted each morning so we knew where and when to avoid.

Thanks for the calming words everyone-I know I'm over-reacting but I am really in manic-hyper-super-overplanning mode about this!:rotfl2:
We booked with Virgin. I have emailed WD holiday planning this morning but they haven't got back to me yet-as they're based in the UK they're probably wondering what the blinking-blunking heck Pop Warner is;)

Its a pity because we were really looking forward to staying at POFQ and now I just keep picturing it looking like our office full of customers (I work for Jobcentre...)

I'd never heard of it until I saw this thread.

Oh dear, I hope not!

if you want to change resot best to do as your about to checkin,
When we have done it in the past never a problem there was never anextra charge as long as it was in the same range value to value, mod to mod
Never changed at a deluxe only had free upgrades

We had our honeymoon at CBR from 30/11 till 10/12 and never saw any pop warner there however at HS it was heaving so we moved parks.App they were staying at POP centuary and sorry to say POR. Such a shame if they are putting them in POFQ but its not that bigger resort and the food court is not that big. Have a look on VH website and put your dates into accomodation only and see what comes up. Keep checking uptil you go. As it is your wedding and it is a quieter period I would ask at check in if there is another resort availible. They may even give you a free upgrade. As OKW and SSR are large resorts they move you there.Pixie dust I hope for you but if it is very noisey You could then complain and express your concerns as this is such a special occassion. They are there having fun as well but I understand after busy days out the ast thing you want is late noisy nights;)

We stayed at All Star Sports for a few days during Pop Warner and the children were fine.
We saw them practicing their cheer routines mid-morning a few times, but they weren't loud or obnoxious. The pool was busier than usual in the evenings and the food court could get busy, but it was totally manageable and didn't negatively affect our holiday at all.
They were louder at the parks than the resort.

We're staying at POFQ during Pop Warner this year too. I'm personally more worried about the airports getting shut because of snow in December (like they did the last 2 years) and not actually going on holiday. I'll worry about cheerleaders if/when we actually get to Florida :goodvibes

I have been at the All-Stars years ago and the Pop Warner cheerleaders were very noisy, so much so that I checked up and now never stay in months it is on.

That being said they aren't anywhere near as bad as if they were UK teenagers, I didn't hear any swearing just a lot of cheering, singing and running around. Nothing too bad but It was worse for me due to trying to get my little one to sleep.

If they did bother you the tip I read is to find out the school they are from and ring/email the school head master straight away.
