We got back from our honeymoon just over a month ago and I'm finding myself just craving Disney magic.

I've been pretend-planning Disney World & Land trips, DCL cruises for every month of the year. Obsessively DIS-ing while I'm not at work. Thinking about the mouse while I AM at work... planning out my vacation days.

AH!!!

Anyone else deal with this? What can I do to stop?!

Maybe DIS is the problem... :lmao:

Sadly, I don't know if there is a cure. ;) And if there were one, I wouldn't be the one to ask--I moved here 'cause I couldn't get enough of the magic, for pity's sake!

One thing I always liked to do when I still vacationed here was to get souvenirs that I could use every day or close to it, like a watch, nice pens, etc. Those were like little jolts of magic every time I looked at them. I also tended to watch a lot of old family vacation videos as well as listen to podcasts. WDW Today is a great one...it always made the time between trips pass just a little bit faster. :goodvibes

I don't really know a cure for you, haha. I always cure it with a trip to WDW.

I've been obsessing for the past two weeks, DIS-ing all day, looking up pictures of the parks and resorts, watching youtube videos about the parks, and I'm already planning a trip to WDW. :lmao:

You just can't help it. I don't know how they do that magic, but it does take hold of you!:lovestruc

We have our vacation in October and it's been less than 2 months - and already the cravings to return are present.

I found several threads about specific cravings and about craving WDW, DL, and Cruising, which refer to the craving "Disney Magic" - and I totally get that.

I wonder what other people do to resist these cravings, because I need help myself. I read trip reports and blogs - that seems to help some, but not a lot.

Sounds like some people move there :)

What do you do?

I'm bumping this discussion because my cravings are bad this week.

I really want a trip to plan and we've had to cancel 2 potential trips. We were just about to book for a trip that would have happened this September, but the other family couldn't afford it. Then we "canceled" our ideas of going this October as part of our anniversary since my graduation date and potential jobs may affect my time off.

I've been reading trip reports and going to the Disney store - but I'm starting to think that's making it worse.

What do you all suggest for handling the cravings?

There is no cure but reading trip reports does seem to help. :goodvibes

I went to the Disney on Ice show recently..it did not help...it made it worse.

I agree with other pps - there is no cure. My addiction brought me to the Dis which has only helped it spiral out of control.

Yes Universal Studios. But unfortunately its like switching from heroin to methadone, :lmao: you merely exchange one addiction for another. Then you'll start obsessively planning for both.

Yeah, switching Disney for Universal Studios totally feels like it would be heroin for methadone - keeps you from getting sick, but doesn't give you a good high. BLAH :lmao:

I went to the Disney store last week and that seemed to help - almost like a drop of magic to keep me going.

But then I saw some of the most fantastic pictures in some trip reports today and it really made me start thinking about how we could get down there this year. I had been hoping to hold off until the Fantasyland construction is finished (or at least mostly done).....but I don't know.....:confused3
