that there are fewer people/posts on the DISboards?
I am one of the 'obsessed' disers, and I've noticed that there aren't as many new threads or posts on the various boards. I enjoy reading and participating in the posts, even the OT posts, are the boards seasonal or is it just me?

Note to self - Keep on DISing... :disrocks:

That's too funny! I was just thinking that! I'm trying to keep my Disney spirit alive :wizard:

I was thinking the same thing the other day. I'm hoping it's purely seasonal.

I've noticed it as well....where did everyone go?

I also took notice of this just the other day. I'm not sure where everybody else is - but I'm still here! :-) And I'm not going anywhere! :-)

It will be interesting to see if it picks up again . . .

I have really been notcing this also. I surf the DIS in the evenings when DH is out of town (pretty much every week), and lately it has been really slow. It is lonely without many good conversations going on. I have been wondering why the sudden lack of topics is happening myself. Maybe it is jsut seasonal--I sure hope so.

I was thinking this too, not sure why it is quieter though

I could be wrong, but I believe it is because most people have taken their trips for this year and since they may not have a trip in the works, they don't come on here.
I know last year after getting back from our trip, I couldn't get back on here. It was too depressing to read about everyone else's plans. That is until I started planning our upcoming trip. :rotfl:

Plus too there is so much going around, that either the posters are sick or they are taking care of someone who is sick.

Or it could be that so many people get jumped on about something they posted that it's not worth it to them to either post or even come back. I keep my opinions to myself because it's not worth the bashing that could ensue.

Noticed it too.

So if people are not planning at the moment that should make the ones going between now and the new year happy. Hopefully less crowds.

But for those that are going in the spring, should we be worried?

This is why I don't post much. I know that I read A LOT, but am afraid to post most times because some people here can be so hostile. (I am waiting to get flamed for saying that, but it is true)

I really feel like volunteering to post on the boards is just an invitation to get jumped on.

I actually read and re-read this post several times because I know that yesterday's theme was grammatical perfection. So I copied and pasted my post into Microsoft Word to make sure it was "up to the standard" before I posted it here.

I have noticed this as well. Used to be I could hit refresh and all the threads changed but not almost nothing changes after I hit refresh a few times.

I can only speak for myself. I don't come on here as much when we aren't planning a trip, and while there are lots of deals going on, with the economy the way it is I think some people are resisitng and holding off. When I do come on unless something really catches my attention I tend to hit the budget board and the family tread over the planning type boards.

Then again maybe, again like me, people have less free time because they are picking up second jobs or extra hours at work, again... because of the economy. :confused3

I try to wean myself from message boards around this time of year. I need to stop spending so much time posting and get my cross stitching done because some of it is Christmas gifts. :rotfl:

I've also found that the more I go to Disney, the less questions I have so I pretty much only reply to threads to help people.

And I think people are getting nervous to post because the boards have gained some folks who while they may not mean to be hostile, come across that way. I've also seen a few downright hostile replies to questions from new folks lately which scares them off.

And on that note, I need to get off this computer and get cross stitching. LOL

Yup, I agree, a lot of the posters of late have been pretty aggressive or made statements just to provoke.

I was grumbling about the lack of new posts (privately to myself) the other evening. Some of my questions actually disappeard off the page with no response :sad2:

Are you serious? How idiotic. Not that you did it, that someone would make that an issue. (whoever you are that did it, go ahead, flame me, I dare you.)

Maybe there should be a thread for nitpickers, and they can all just post their negativity there and let the rest of us have fun.

If you're looking for um...gentler posts, try the Disneyland threads. People are a lot more mellow over there. ;)

Well it is in California... just seems like people have been really bitter of late. Lots of complaining posts: F&W, MNSSHP, etc. I liked it better when people focused on the magic of the World.

YUP... there was an entire thread about the use of They're, There, Their. A lot of our grammatically educated members chimed in about that lack of proper grammar on the boards. I admit to being a chronic user of words that aren't words, like "gonna" for example. I will be more careful for the few posts that I am brave enough to put on the board.

(P.S. I edited this post and spell checked it and grammar checked it several times. Then I went back and took out something that might have been inflamatory. Then I considered not posting it at all. Fear of flaming is a powerful deterent to board activity. :rotfl2:)

I'm one of the fairly new posters here, but have never flamed anyone for their opinions or advice. I've noticed people tend to stray away from the topics the OP's have posted. I try to offer my advice and opinions based on the topics. So getting back to this original topic, I've noticed the boards have been rather slow lately. I check them daily. I've added a few posts I'm still seeking answers to, and have yet to get a few answers. :confused3

I agree that most posts lately have been about someone being sick, taking care of someone being sick, or afraid of getting sick. I know H1N1 is a big concern for everyone; but there are so many posts on that topic, if I see one more I could just scream. :scared1: So this kinda pushes me away. I take a quick glance and don't stick around long.

We have a trip coming up next year and love coming to the Disboards to learn all the tips and tricks. We don't stay on site, so I skip a lot of the posts that pertain to the onsite resorts/hotels, Dining Plans or anything that is purely in association with the resorts/hotels. So hopefully it's just seasonal and people will be sharing the magic again soon. :wizard::goodvibes

And as I read the quote in your post, I noticed a lot of typos in my post. :rotfl:
