Anyone Else Notice Disney Magazine is Getting Thinner?

I dunno, just last few issues seem to have gotten thinner. Content seems to be less interesting. It's just less interesting and I'm less excited when I get it in the mail than I used to be. I guess it's just like everything else, Disney is going to pot. I guess Conde Nast Travelers gonna have to be my new "get excited when it comes in the mail" magazine.

I've TOTALLY noticed this!!! I used to mark pages, dream, get excited all over again. Now I flip through and toss it in the recycling bin. There's just nothing there. "It's not ugly, it's just . . .void" I think that's the quote anyway (from 16 Candles) What can I say? I'm a child of the '80s!!!!!!

If you never have, check out National Geographic's Traveler magazine. The articles are good IMO and their photographers are the best.

Back to the topic, I agree that the Disney Magazine seems small. It's easy to just scan when you can find it (I don't subscribe) because it's so teeny.

Not much to talk about when they keep taking things away. Plus I guess they are trying to save on paper.

My last issue was pretty thick.

And then I took out all the little post card/special offers. I counted 13 of the little buggers........and the magazine was definitely thinner after they were all removed!

Everything Disney is getting thinner...except Eisner.

and Pooh of course ;)

While I'm still crazy for Disney and WDW, I'm about finished with Disney hyperbole. This includes Disney magazine and many of the books they publish. Everything official that comes out of Disney reads like a press release. I wish the Unofficial Guide came out quarterly.

Yes, much thinner. The only issue that I can remember having much substance lately was the Park Guide issue from about a year ago. And considering that they only do 4 issues per year, there should be alot more content.

this is good, long reads never good

Actually, it's not any thinner than it has been recently. (This is why you never say something in front of a packrat!)

Fall 1996 - 116 (Special Edition)
Spring 2000 - 92
Fall 2000 - 92
Spring 2001 - 92
Fall 2002 - 88
Winter 2002/03 - 92
Spring 2003 - 88
Summer 2003 - 88
Fall 2003 - 88
Winter 2003/04 - 88
Spring 2004 - 88

Now, if you want to argue content... ;) (I'm not going through and counting the pages with ads/stories!)

Perhaps they are trying to save money since they aren't getting $19.95-$39.95 per person when the Disney Club Membership was around. NOT SUPPORTING THEM just complaining. Miss the ole Mouse club.

It may be getting thinner, but, I still read it. Still enjoy it. Still one of my favorite magazines. MY only regret. That it is a quarterly and not a monthly.

I also do not care for the magazine anymore. I discontinued them over 2 yrs ago and was all paid up.

They sent me a letter last month stating they had called me (which is impossible for several reasons) and that I had agreed to receiving the magazines again. I threw the letter away thinking someone just made a mistake. Wasn't long after that they sent me a magazine!
I then sent them a not so nice letter back. What a scam!
Now of course they want their money and want to know if I have forgotten to pay.
