I'm locked in a room with nothing but a glass block window. I'm a total July 4th party pooper. ;)

We aren't watching fireworks this year either. Its been a long weekend and we are just to pooped to do anything. And I'm just not feeling fireworkish this year.

You're not the only party pooper -- I am here with you. The neighborhood is shooting off all kinds of loud explosives, but I am staying in. I personally love to see fireworks at WDW or other organized display, but this neighborhood stuff scares me.

ITA. You just know when you turn on the 11:00 news, you'll hear about some kid blowing his hand off.

We did fireworks last night, my oldest DS was so excitied for them he couldn't sleep Sunday night. Tonight we are just hanging out, the boys are tired from a full day of activities and lucky for me they can't read a calendar :) . It's raining and blowing like crazy here so I'm not even sure there will be any fireworks tonight. Are you locked in room by your own choice?

Edited to add: you know your a Disney addict when all other fireworks just fizzle.

When you have seen WDW fireworks, home town fireworks just don't thrill I guess. We live in a beach tourist town, so everyone is on the beach watching fireworks.

We just didn't want to fight the traffic or we would have went to watch. I guess were getting to old

Yeah,we're just taking it eay tonight because of work tomorrow and a long day yesterday. Fireworks are great but the crowds can be a problem - to many drunks, etc..

Well, I'm locked in here because it's the safest place for my cat. She's terrified and it's the most firework-free zone in the house. ;)

I don't mind them, but I'm angst of the crowds and bugs and mediocre of the event. I love WDW fireworks and feel that I have seen a lifetime of FW through the eye of the mouse.

Evening ya'll, I'm not much in the party mood myself. I'm hearing the fireworks everywhere and I just want to yell turn it off lol so I can sleep. I'm a big party pooper

Thats our thinking as well. My 14 year old even said theres no reason to go see the fireworks when we've been to Disney.

Thank goodness, I hate the traffic!

Oh, I'm sorry that she's having a bad night. I hope that its not a long night for you. My dogs hate them too.

Nope, none of the kids wanted to go and my back has been bad since last week, I can't stand for any length of time and if I sat on the ground I probably wouldn't be able to get up.

But I can hear them from Riverside park and I bet if I looked out my upstairs window I could see them.......too much work though!

Nope. We went out to the base at about seven, set up our chairs and dug in for the night when this huge black cloud sailed over head. The base actually ordered everyone to their cars with a five minute warning. We made it half way home before the storm hit. It's now pouring and God is putting on His own fireworks display.

We went to a neighborhood fireworks show on the other side of our town last year. One of the neighbors of my mom's friend has a brother that's well, a pyro. He puts on a show for that cul-de-sac every year. They're real fireworks, and were quite impressive at the start of the "show". He's apparently not actually licensed for that grade of fireworks though. The reason though that I quoted your post. He left the SUV that he'd used to tow the trailer of fireworks in the same field he was shooting them off from. Something happened and sparks from the fireworks landed on a whole bunch of mortars (sp?). Half the "show'' went off with one giant bang, complete with two bodies flying through the air as they dove for a ditch, and all of us spectators running as far away from that car as we could. The car was just inches from being hit by something, and they were just inches from death. So yes, the neighborhood fireworks thing now petrifies me

My town doesn't actually put on a fireworks show, but the city next to us does. I probably would have gone to those, but they were last night, at 9:30 or 10, and it's always a long show. My 9 hour shift (retail) started at 8:30 this morning. On fireworks nights it takes roughly an hour because of the traffic to get home from where we would watch them, and the show is about half an hour long. Needless to say we didn't go. Tonight we sat home and watched Pops Goes the 4th (Boston Pops) and ate flag cake. Very low key this year.

We're not because we are going to WDW tomorrow :cheer2: :Pinkbounc  :smooth:

We will be able to watch all the fireworks we want in the next 12 days!!! :cloud9:

Lucky, lucky you! Have a great time! Wish I were going too. pixiedust:

We attempted to go watch fireworks.. It was a failure all that happened was we got stuck in traffic with a bunch of idiots who don't know how to drive and bratty kids walking around.

I wish I stayed at home.

Our fireworks start in 30 mins. but we are staying home, because our poor dog just freaks out with the noise. He has tried to go thru both the screen
door and the front door.
We just turn up the tv :happytv: and give him some treats to distract him.
Happy 4th everyone.
