Anyone else not like Illuminations?

I love how it starts with the host blowing out all the flames, that is just awesome. And even the first few fireworks are cool, but then it starts playing that video on the globe in the water that I can barely make out what it is and they have those cheesy little fountains around it. I just find it all very unimpressive and BORING. Am I alone in this? :confused3

I don't like the globe part (not even a little), but enjoy the rest. Especially the end, with all the white lights and then the colorful fireworks finale. I also like the fire. And I love the music! Even listen to it in the car. :)

It is better than Fantasmic, but a long way from Wishes, IMHO.

I can't see what's on the globe very well, either, but I adore the music. I could watch Illuminations every night.

We just went last week and I was so looking forward to Illuminations because I loved it when we went 12 years ago. I was disappointed.

I don't think it is as good as it was in years past, but I still enjoy it very much. The globe though I think was a poor addition simply because if a person's eyesight isn't that good or if you aren't in just the right type of viewing spot, you're missing out on a major part of the show.

I don't care for Illuminations either but love Wishes and Fantasmic. Lucky for us that Disney has different offerings of fireworks, something for everyone to love!

Yes the globe part slows down a little but I think it's mainly because I can't wait for it to open up & explode!   I could watch it every night!

Illuminations is one of my favorite things at Disney. I agree the globe could be a bit bigger so it would be easier to see (I'm 44 so my eyesight isn't what it use to be) but I can see enough of it to get the meaning. I think its thrilling and heartwarming at the same time. The way it is all set to the music amazes me. Sometimes at home my DH and I look at each other and say "Illuminations is going on." Just think...it goes on every single night - whether we're there or not. I too listen to the music in the car sometimes. If you ever get a chance to see the 4th of July tag, it's absolutely amazing. Plus, there's a special Christmas tag as well. Last year it was set to Let there be peace on earth...LOVED IT!!!!

Just like the rest of Disney...the magic goes on 365 days a year. They make you feel so special like it's there just for you but it's not. It's going on right now.

Or is it? Hmmmmmmm.....

We loved Illuminations but thought Fantasmic! was even better!
We were lucky enough to get a patio table at Rose & Crown and had a lovely view of Illuminations. But our favorite by far was Fantasmic!

Illuminations is my least favorite show too....I end up levaing when the globe comes out. It is boring to me to at that part and I feel that it lasts too long.

I LOVE illuminations, but to honest, I liked the old one better. Before Reflections on earth they used to have a saute to nations where they did a little bit of national music for the country and spotlike that nation - and the pavilion had lights that would go off. It encompassed the entire WS. I miss that and wish at times they would bring it back.

Me too! I wonder why they went to an evolution theme instead of a celebrate the nations theme? :confused3

I used to love it. Now I really don't. Wishes and Fantasmic are much better.

I don't think Illuminations is that great. I wouldn't go if others in my family didn't want to see it. I remember loving it during a trip in 1996, but it's changed a lot.

I loved that version too and thankfully My father taped it for us so we have it forever.

I like the new version too, but it does get a little slow during the globe scene, they need something extra to be happening at that time. But right at the end when they play the last song and light up the sky with the lasers---oh that's worth it to me.

Well, thank you so much. I thought I was the only person in the world that did not care for illuminations. We went once and we decided we would never go again unless we were already there. We made a special trip (left another park) to see it because my family gave it such high honors. To me, I thought I would have liked it better if I hadn't made the trip just for the show. Wasn't worth the extra travel time.

I love the music, but it is my least fav nighttime show at the World. The globe part gets pretty boring and the fireworks pale in comparison to Wishes. I don't like the evolution theme either. But, it's Disney and I usually see it once while I am there.

Ok, I have to say this..............HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?

This is one the best things at Disney World, very touching, very moving!
