Anyone else not like Illuminations?

most people don't like illunations ROE becasue they don't get the story or visuals.

esentialy you are watching the history of evolution starting with the big bang, to the formation of the planet earth, to the possible future. Watch it next time with that in mind and you may enjoy it a lot more.

This is one the best things at Disney World, very touching, very moving!

I couldn't agree more. We see it almost every night we are there. We also have the CD and when my DH and I play it at home, my kids all come running to listen. Some of the best memories we have over the years is watching Illuminations together!

I second this !!! It just reminds me of all the peace the world should have. In a perfect world, people of all nations and religions could watch this show and realize we all really have alot in common. Well, i can wish that can't I?

Me too!! I love Illuminations and can watch it every night during our trips. I play the CD very often (and very loud!) in my car. The Christmas version is our absolute favorite; love the additions they include at the end. We'll be seeing it again soon!

we def. really like illuminations. i really like when it begins to. i know a couple of times whenwe first started going, we didnt watch it all cause we wanted to beat the crowds heading out to the bus............hah. but we def. love going to it.

I used to love Illuminations, in fact it was my favorite nighttime show. Now, I like the beginning but find the part with the globe to be extremely boring. It's just ok now. Wishes is now my favorite.

Doesn't do a thing for me. Don't like the globe. Fire doesn't wow me.

Of course, I was also the person laughing my way out of American Adventure saying, "Ok, I'm good for another 20 years when I forget just how corny this is and try it again."

I wouldn't say I don't like it, but I'm just not overly impressed by it. I always hear people saying how its so moving, brings them to tears, the best show Disney does, etc.... I just don't get that. To me it's a fireworks display. I love Wishes and feel it is SO Disney. And Remember Dreams Come True in DL is even better than that. I just don't "get" Illuminations. I do think I'm missing something though because I seem to be in the minority.

I read the background on what it supposedly represents...the globe thing is still a yawner. For me, anyway.

I "get" the story, but still find Illuminations to be rather lackluster. I would much rather see Wishes or Fantasmic. I know others enjoy it very much, and I just chalk it up to WDW having different stuff for all kinds of people.

I live for Illuminations!!! When that song comes on at the end (We go On) and the torches light, I want to cry. I guess for me, it's a tradition and it's just one of those things that I absolutely love.

I also thought I was the only person that didn't like it. My Dh likes it so we usually have to watch it. However, every trip I have taken without him I have skipped it. It just doesn't do anything for me.

I like the old one much better. Hubby & I just returned we seen the old one several years ago we were disapointed with this show in September. Wishes was my favorite!

I LOVE illuminations, but to honest, I liked the old one better. Before Reflections on earth they used to have a saute to nations where they did a little bit of national music for the country and spotlike that nation - and the pavilion had lights that would go off. It encompassed the entire WS. I miss that and wish at times they would bring it back.

We liked this version better also - still think of it whenever I hear Gershwin music!

Be careful if watching them from UK, they block off most of it because the the shooting fireworks in the beginning land there. We like to watch it in Japan, globe comes out near there and if you're lucky, you can get a spot up along the railing outside the restaurant. You get a great view from up there! It's so dark and some people don't even know thats up there!
