Anyone else not into the dinner shows on new ships?

I disagree. When I book a cruise, I'm booking the ability to choose what movies I go to, what ports I visit, what stage shows I attend, what I order from the menu, etc. The only difference with dinner shows is that you're captive. There's no way to choose to avoid them other than selecting very limited alternatives from room service and pool deck venues.

Or to book a different cruise that doesn’t have them?

You get people who like dinner shows are captive to the non dinner shows on each disney cruise too? Not every rotation restaurant has a dinner show. I wish they did. But im forced to have a bland meal with a mess hall vibe if i choose to do all rotation restaurants every disney cruise. I didnt choose this.

Gotta fill out those surveys when you get back, otherwise they won't know. I've got my first and probably only Wish cruise in a week and I'm really not looking forward to Arendelle. But I've got Treasure next spring and I can't wait for Plaza de Coco. Lion King on the Destiny also seems appealing. We're big Marvel fans in my house so seeing the various shows at Worlds of Marvel is a big draw (at least the first time). But I agree it can be a little much depending on preference. Animator's is way better on Magic/Wonder than on Dream/Fantasy IMO. But even then you've got Tiana's and Rapunzel's. I love everything about Tiana's food and music alike, but RRT is merely okay. At least Palo dinner is pretty easy to book onboard most of the time.

So funny to see all the different opinions here. We LOVED Coco on the Treasure. We actually all cried at that dinner because Coco just gets us right in the feels. 😂

Unfortunately, our rotation had us at Marvel 3x that cruise. I am NOT a Marvel fan and it was my least fave aesthetically of all the restaurants. They have to have another alternative for dinner..

We just got off the Treasure and also loved Coco! It helped that we lucked into an awesome location right next to the stage. The mariachi musicians are so talented. And we enjoyed the food, especially the second night (when my son plowed through at least three plates of guacamole).

Was it real guacamole?

If you don't like the shows on the Classic ships you are going to hate Arendelles. It's beyond obnoxious. Pack some noise cancelling head phones.

Don't you like conversation at dinner? I have a rule in my house no TV on at dinner.

At home i havent seen my family all day during the workday. On a cruise im seeing them regularly throughout the day. How much is there actually to talk about that you didnt talk to them about already? And its not like the show goes through whole dinner in any case.

Arendelles is the best of all of them. You literally see people cry because the show moves them so much. Amazing.

It's not the reason why I book a cruise.
You get disney is an entertainment company built off musical themed family shows right? There cruises should be about musical shows including dinner. Cos that is what Disney is. Musical themed family entertainment. All the other cruise lines are an option if you dont like musical entertainment.

No luck changing your rotation to do less Marvel?

I don't understand the need to be constantly entertained by outside forces. We're booked for our first Triton class cruise, boarding in about a month and I expect to *hate* the loud, obnoxious caterwauling, flashing lights and interaction. I was brought up to not watch television during dinner. I don't need somebody yelling at me and distracting me from spending time with my wife.
You dont want to be entertained when you are literally paying lots money to be entertained by a musical entertainment company? Its like going to WDW and complaining about there being rides. Stay at home then and save the money.

On a standard triton class 3 day cruise there will be 9 meals and only 2 of them will have entertainment. And there are options to skip those 2. On a 7 night cruise its only 4 out of 21 meals that have entertainment. Frankly there is not enough entertainment at meals for my liking. Given those ratios I think those complaining about the restaurant entertainment are being a bit unfair to the cruisers who love them. Disney always wants to find ways to save money on costs. Cutting dinner entertainment if a few people complain is any easy way to do that. But some of us really really love them. Please think of us before you complain. There really isnt that many meals with entertainment to justify complaints.

I would not consider that entertainment, but seeing people cry over it might be entertaining.
