Anyone else not going to MNSSHP when they're there in Oct?

No MNSSHP for us, either. We have so many other things planned, and we aren't really big on parades. I know that isn't all there is to MNSSHP, but it seems that we really wouldn't be doing any of the "special" stuff anyway. All we really want to do is ride the rides and see the shows. We already have 4 half-days planned for the MK, so we won't need to spand the extra $$.

Maybe next year! :sunny:

You're NOT nuts, especially when you consider you can get pretty much the same thing for free, if you wanted to, by taking advantage of evening EMH's, if they're offered.

I have never been in October and am really trying to do it cheap. What can you do for free?

If you stay onsite, you get evening EMH's for free. The total hours of operation for MK on EMH evenings are exactly the same as MNSSHP. MNSSHP costs $$$, no matter if you're staying onsite or offsite. I guess the biggest difference really is that you get candy on MNSSHP nights. If I have the choice, I'll save my money, forego the candy and go on EMH nights.

we went to Down Town Disney and there was a lot of action and fun !!! Free entertainment was great. Just being there was fun enough! Trick or treat at the stores was kinda lame, long lines for candy that was cheaper stuff. But fun all the same just walking around and seeing everyone dressed up and all. A great FREE night!!

We're not going either. We will be there for seven days and the two days I have scheduled at MK are both MNSSHP days. The first is the day that we arrive (I figure the kids will want to see the MK as soon as possible) and the second is the day of our CRT breakfast (so I cannot possibly change that!). I cannot figure out if people attending MNSSHP will stay away from the parks early on those days so they don't get burnt out since they will be there into the night or if the parks will be terribly crowded from open to close. :confused3 I have a CP ADR for 5:50, but am worried about the crowds so I am trying to get a CP breakfast on another day instead.
I think you should keep CP like you've got it. Last year we went to the party and had dinner at CP around that time. We were one of the last families there and we got to see all the characters together when they were done with all the other tables. They kept telling us to take our time so they didn't rush us just because we were one of the last ones there. Then when you leave you'll be able to see Main St all decorated for the party.

I wasn't going to do the party this year because it did cut into our park times the days before & after the party but DS(4) says the party is the one thing he wants to do most so we are going to go again this year-I think-I haven't actually purchased my tickets yet.

We will also be there during MNSSHP but have finally decided not to attend the party. We were going just so we could see the decorations but since we are AP holders, it's kinda ridiculous to pay the extra price for the tickets just to see the decorations. We thought we would go over on a party day and just check it out until it was time for us to leave the park. I assumed that MK would not be crowded on a party day, just like Amy&Dan posted, but I might have to revamp our plans again. Oh well :confused3 :confused3

Me and my bf are skipping it too. I do love halloween its one of my favories times of the year. But i figured i'd rather spend the money on something else like pleasure island. We are gonna the last week of oct and figured it would be crazy at mk at night.
Hello all, don't flame me for this comment, but here it goes. I noticed that you would rather spend $ on pleasure island which is wonderful too. But did you know that the MYW w/plus pack option includes all the DTD clubs free? Also, if you love Halloween, I cannot stress enough that the money you would use to go to MNSSHP would be well spent.

I am a huge Halloween fan, and going to the party is a once in a lifetime opportunity not to be missed IMHO :goodvibes The park is decorated differently, the characters are in costume, the parade is AWESOME, the fireworks are halloween themed, and the park is almost EMPTY by about 9:00pm. For this reason alone, even if you didn't do any of the Halloween activities, I would purchase the tickets! We went on Splash & Space mountain 3 times without ever getting out of the ride, there was NO ONE in line! We took the younger kids on Dumbo 5-6 times (which is usually an hour + wait during the day) and walked onto Peter Pan and Winnie the Pooh more times that I could count.

On TOP of all that, those of you who are planning MK on MNSSHP days will be "shorted" on time. The parks close @ 6:00pm to everyone except those who have party tickets. I would go on another day if it were me (time=$$, depending on how much you pay for your tickets and how long you stay at the park, could equal $5-10 per hour) to get my $$ worth on passes.

OK, flame me :rotfl2: But, if you have the extra $$ and are considering it, here is one vote to DO IT, DO IT, DO IT..... It is what I look forward to most of any Disney event...I have been waiting since last year and it's been a looooong time.
