Anyone else not going to MNSSHP when they're there in Oct?

We'll be at WDW for the first two nights of MNSSHP, but we decided not to go to the party. With two kids (one a toddler), we plan to be up and at the parks early most days, and not stay out late most evenings. We'll have plenty of time at MK during the rest of our vacation and decided we don't think it's worth another $100+, plus missed park time the day before and after.

If it were just dh and me, or even without the toddler, we might do it, but this year, we just don't think it's worth it.

Anyone else, or do ya'll think I'm nuts? :rotfl:

us too. we are not going either. i think you have to decide what's best for the group. we also have a toddler that loves to get up early. our late nights will not exist on this trip.

You're NOT nuts, especially when you consider you can get pretty much the same thing for free, if you wanted to, by taking advantage of evening EMH's, if they're offered.

We're going because we will be there on Halloween. This will make up for the kids missing trick-or-treating at home on Halloween.

We have decided not to go. . .however, we don't have any children in our party, just 4 adults. I would love to go, and probably will someday. But we, as a group, decided that we would rather do other things. :confused3
Maybe next time. It will save us a bit of cash.

If I go in Oct. again, I will not waste the money on MNSSHP. The first year we went, it was awesome. A truly intimate event. Now, they just sell too many tickets/ It's not worth the cost to me anymore. My DS is grown now & there is no longer any big reason to spend the money for a crowded night in MK.

Count 2 adults not going to the party, we have so much planned at the parks, and we want to go to Pleasure Island in the evenings and give Disney Quest a try this time. So no we won't be attending, I for one think the price is rather steep considering we are onsite guests and have already paid for tickets, but I don't mind, this means maybe some of the other parks won't be as crowded at these times?

Carol :rolleyes1

We aren't going either. Same reason. Our DD will be turning 3, and we just don't want to burn her out too much! We've never been before, so at least we don't know what we're missing. :)

We skip it, too. Halloween just isn't our thing, so we work our schedule out to take advantage of being where the crowds AREN'T when the party is going on.

We're not going either. We will be there for seven days and the two days I have scheduled at MK are both MNSSHP days. The first is the day that we arrive (I figure the kids will want to see the MK as soon as possible) and the second is the day of our CRT breakfast (so I cannot possibly change that!). I cannot figure out if people attending MNSSHP will stay away from the parks early on those days so they don't get burnt out since they will be there into the night or if the parks will be terribly crowded from open to close. :confused3 I have a CP ADR for 5:50, but am worried about the crowds so I am trying to get a CP breakfast on another day instead.

We went last year so we are going to skip it this year, We are pretty confident that we will get to see all that we want in 10 days, I feel it is expensive just for the candy.
we have been to WDW many many times and I can't tell you when the last parade or special ' thing ' was we saw. They are just not for us ( just think it means 1 less person holding a spot ;) ).

We did enjoy MNSSHP last year but then again we were on vacation for Universal, so the party gave us 1 night to go to MK.

I'm curious about that as well! Anybody know from previous years?

Our experience last year was that on MNSSHP days MK was not as crowded. People going to the party will likely want to experience another park or just hang out at the resort and rest up for a late evening. People not going to the party (especially if they don't have park hopper tickets) will not necessarily want to go there because of the fact the park will close early and there won't be Wishes or Spectro. I know that last year I planned MK on a day with no MNSSHP because it was a Tuesday and normally that would be a low attendance day at MK. I was wrong! It was our most crowded day. We still had fun but it wasn't like I thought it would be. This year we are doing MNSSHP again and making our other MK visit on a MNSSHP day (not the same day we are going however) to hopefully avoid crowds. We'll see! Just know that if you do this plan you should really plan another evening at MK to see Wishes and Spectro.

I've been thinking about going, just because we never have gone before. But we still have a few days left on our hopper passes from last year, and I really don't want to spend the extra money on tickets to just to get into MK for that. Neither of us are big on Halloween either, so I think we're going to skip it this year.

The only day they offer it when we're there is the day we arrive. I think we'll be too tired after getting up early for the flight. I can just imagine being there for an hour and the kids wanting to go back to the hotel.

We (dw , dd(3) & ds(5) ) will not be attending. I think it would be too much for them. It will be a bummer that they will miss trick-or-treating but hey....we'll be @ DisneyWorld. That has to make up for it. :)

We're skipping it also. The kids will be on a morning schedule so staying up that late isn't going to be all that easy. Plus, if you do stay up late, the next morning is shot. And morning is a great time to get rides in. Also, there's a ton of free stuff to do and having done none of it, wanted to do all that first. For the same reason, we're not doing any of the special events at F & W. We'll do the booths and some of the free demos. But the paid special event stuff can wait until a year they don't give me free food. HEHE.

Me and my bf are skipping it too. I do love halloween its one of my favories times of the year. But i figured i'd rather spend the money on something else like pleasure island. We are gonna the last week of oct and figured it would be crazy at mk at night.

We went last year and LOVED it, but this year we are taking our 2 neices don't want the extra expense! We are, however, planning on hitting the "X-tra magic hour" night for the MK, JUST to ride Big Thunder at night! It is BEAUTIFUL all lit up!

last year I was there Oct 31 and didnt go... we went to DTD and there was a lot of action and fun !!! Free entertainment was great. Just being there was fun enough! Trick or treat at the stores was kinda lame, long lines for candy that was cheaper stuff. But fun all the same just walking around and seeing everyone dressed up and all.
