Except for it being Easter Sunday I am not doing one thing extra special. DD and son in law are 27, DS is 23, his fiancee is 22 and I have no grandchildren. So there are no eggs to dye. DH has to go to work at 2:30 tomorrow. DS is a youth director so he goes to his church at 8:30 and then his fiancee's at 10:30 and is eating a big middle of the day dinner with her family. DD and her DH aren't going to church and since tomorrow is her father in law's birthday, someone is having him a big middle of the day meal that they are going to. So I asked my DH what he wanted for lunch tomorrow and he said I really want HOT DOGS so since it is just the two of us guess what we are having for our Easter meal? ;) I am kind of glad in a way because there is an Easter egg hunt for the children at church directly after church and the choir is doing special music, so it will be close to one before we get home probably. I just wondered if there was anyone else who wasn't doing too much. I really do miss little children at times like this.:(

Me too, sweetie. I really need to get me some grandbabies.

We are doing nothing special tomorrow. My mother and brother have something special at their church so they won't be coming over.

Oh well, no huge mid day meal is a good thing for me :) Have a great Easter.

DH, DS, DD and myself are going to my Mom's for Easter dinner. It's very casual. We usually wear jeans.

Well I'm on bedrest so unless someone comes over with food I'm not doing anything. DH might go to church with his mom and then to dinner at his grandparents so I guess it will be just me, the computer, and the cats. (I told him he should go be with his family!)

DH, DS10.5 and I are going for Easter Brunch at Lashaway Inn in the Brookfields. Then DS & I are off to the Davis Farm to see the baby animals.

It does make a difference when there are no little kids. We are driving down to Gettysburg in our RV for the week. I do miss putting out carrots and making bunny prints on the floor:(

I'm cleaning my closet unless I get called into work.

I have a 3 day weekend and not a thing to do. I'm bored crazy! I haven't celebrated Easter since I was little.

Just a little {{{{hug}}} Boots as I can relate to what you're going through as we have no small children anymore either and it's really "empty" here, especially when there is a holiday.:(

My DH is on 12 hour nights since Friday night so not much happening here either. DS,DS's girlfriend and our other DS, who still lives at home will be sharing a turkey dinner with us before their Dad leaves for work.:)

But I shouldn't be whining as we just returned on the 10th from 24 glorious days in Florida and actually I have the "blues" about returning from there too! LOL;)

Happy Easter to you and your Boots! :sunny:

We don't have anything special planned either.

Since our families live in the Philadelphia area, there won't be any visiting to do.

We plan on going to the Chevy dealer to scope out some new SUV's--they're closed on Easter Sunday, so we won't have any salesmen to bother us!

Then we are going to take the boys to see the movie "Holes."

As far as dinner goes, we're making homemade Stromboli, not your traditional Easter dinner, but it works for us!

Oh...and for dessert, Ricotta Pie (pronouced Re-got Pie!)

Well, I still have an 11 year old at home but I'm really not doing anything special for Easter. Usually I have a big dinner after church for everyone but this year I decided I wanted to go to a restaurant for dinner, after church. Youngest DS does not like eggs so, for the 1st year I will not be coloring eggs. In lieu of an Easter basket he picked out some Yu-gi-o(sp?) cards. I'm glad a grandbaby is just around the corner!:D

TC:cool:

Just the two of us - I will cook something but dd will be working on her huge science project - thank heavens for google and other search functions

We are going to church and then to the breakfast they have afterwards. We are not dying eggs or anything. We got Avery a fish for Easter. She doesn't need any candy or videos. PLus she is still young. She loves her fish though! :)

It is raining here today and supposed to do the same tomorrow. We will probably just stay home and hang out! :)

I did the Easter thing with my granddaughter today.. DD worked today and will work tomorrow as well - and her DH's "Easter" isn't until next weekend.. He kind of hinted around today that he might call and ask me if I want to take a ride up to the lake tomorrow to check on the place 'cause we haven't been there since late November or so..

I have ALWAYS disliked Easter (long story - hated candy as a child but forced myself to eat it so as not to disappoint my parents and ruin their fun) so given my "druthers" I'd rather ignore it all together..

Think I'll get busy and list some more stuff on eBay - and maybe give my poor pathetic mini van a much needed cleaning.. Supposed to be real nice weather here tomorrow.. 'Course on the other hand, if my son-in-law calls and invites me to go to the lake with him in the afternoon, I'M OUTTA HERE!!!!!! LOL;)

I have to work and I don't even get holiday pay. :(

We are going to church in the morning, then will be over my MIL's for the rest of the day. There will be 25 of us.
There are no Easter eggs to dye here, & no Easter baskets to hide either. My kids are 24, 22, and 19 so it's been a while since we've done any of that. Like you Boots, I do miss it sometimes.
I especially used to love dressing them up for Easter!

Not doing much special here either. I think we are going to have a cook out and really use our grill for the first time this year. We have no kids so we haven't had Easter Egg Hunts or anything like that in a long long time.

I, too, have to work. We'll probably serve about 140 people Easter Brunch, with an easter egg hunt for the kids (30 or 40 of the little darlings). Don't get me wrong, I do like children...but most of the ones that come to our club let their kids act like wild indians, and seem to think the staff are free babysitters and turn a blind eye...and ear...to their kids. So I get stuck with their kids, and miss the activities of my two-year old twin granddaughters and grandsons.

Oh, well, nobody told me life was fair, and the job does make the December trip to WDW possible, so you take the bad with the good.

One nice benefit, I usually get to take home some good leftovers.
