Anyone else miss the garland across mainstreet?

Loved the garland on on our last two trips at Thanksgiving - we live in a small town, and it is similar to our "main st."decor at Christmas , with the garland and wreaths. We knew the new parade was coming, and garland would come down. We will have to see when we are there in Dec., but I have a feeling we will miss it. It was also be weird with the big Christmas tree up in the square, which we have never seen as it usually goes up after Thanksgiving (though it looks like it may be up already this yr?) . It also seems from the pics to block the view of the castle as you enter, which I don't think I prefer.

I liked the garland, but LOVE the new parade and like so much the view of the castle without the Garland. Still looks magical and Christmasy to me!

Again I understand how having a clear view of the castle is nice but it's not like it obstructed your view that bad and it made the magic kingdom look honestly magical and Christmassy
Yeah, no...not bad at all lol.

Blech.

I never liked the garland - to me, it felt claustrophobic, and I thought the visible wires were ugly, like telephone wires strung over my head. So, naturally, I'm quite happy to hear it's gone. :)

When I first heard that the garlands would be a thing of the past due to high design floats, I was terribly disappointed. I have many photos of Main St. with the garland. After all, the parade doesn't go on 24/7 and the garland was a traditional decoration. I loved it. I agree that it may have "blocked" some views of the castle, but after all these years can they really point to that as a reason for removing the garlands at Christmas? Seriously??? They've removed a lot at Disney that was traditional and popular and well loved. Not all changes are good for everyone.

Does someone have a picture without the garland? I'm curious what it looks like.

ETA: the picture above mine didn't load before for some reason. Strange, but thank you.

Yes, I definitely think the Garland was much more WOW! Maybe they are equally festive, but it doesn't have the same Disney WOW factor.

Let's also use a good photo when showing the garland - it obstructs the castle while making mainstreet a main focus and engulfing you making the lead to the castle even better where then it's the focal point

I use to look at photos and be amazing how beautiful it looked on mainstreet during Christmas time but without the garland it looses a little something. Anyone agree and think maybe Disney should bring it back once festival of fantasy ends?

Disneyland has the same problem this year with the Paint the Night 60th anniversary parade being too tall to allow Main Street garland. :sad1:

I've seen the Garlands at DLP, they just block the castle on every single photo taken on Main St :(

The Wreaths are good IMO

Well, that's REALLY pretty too! I guess I like it both ways, but now I need a night time pic with no garland to compare again!

Anyone have a photo of the new decorations at night to compare? I'm off to look on google :)

It does look much better at night. I really just hate how it looks in the day.

The wreaths are pretty, but I still don't like the wires over our heads. They're always visible even at night. I'm looking forward to seeing the view without them, in a couple weeks! :)

How about using a picture that actually shows a guests view rather than this one promo shot that is clearly enhanced ?
