I just looove it when the University closes for the summer......about 2,000 less cars on the road.;) :Pinkbounc

YUP. And you can comfortably grocery shop without being run over!

no, but i do park on a college campus. it's nice not to have to worry about stupid students running out into the middle of the road and me hitting them in the summer. :rotfl:

You could call our "town" a college town. St. Mary's College of MD is in St. Mary's City. There are probably about 2000 students there, but probably only 4-500 cars. About half those probably don't leave the storage lot during the week. The remainder of the population of St. Mary's City is probably 500 people. I don't notice a massive difference on the roads, because the commuters are usually after I leave for work, and gone before I get home.

Well Boston never fully clears out of students during the summer, but there are a lot less cars on the road, and trains are a lot less packed in the mornings.

The T rides must be much nicer, especially on the Green Line.

I'm not taking my car to Boston next year, even though I can. By the time I find a place to park, I probably could've taken the T to my destination and back ;)

We do too, but unfortunately for us, the college kids are replaced by the bennies. I prefer the college kids!

We live between 2 college towns and my DH works in one of them. He definitely notices a difference.

Only lived in a college town as a student - but I stayed for Summers. I just loved the Summers - even with classes. The town was so nice and peaceful.

Now football weekends were a logistical nightmare!
