Anyone else LIKE El Rio Del Tiempo in Mexico??

I love it, but, then, I love Small World too!

The ride feels very retro now, and that's how it is advertised--it's meant to be kitschy. I especially like the fireworks room.

DH and I ate in the restaurant twice last year, and we noticed pretty major changes in the volcano scene...you might think they are not updating the scenery but they do, it's just subtle and you might not pick up on it if you don't go there a lot.

We swear the seats in the boat are heated in the winter! Anybody else notice the seats are warm in cold weather??

This is one of our favorites. It is a good respite from the heat and the crowds. It is so relaxing and refreshing. We usually ride multiple times each visit.

I have been riding this ride for years! It is so classic Disney. I too am a mexican food snob spending months in Mexico, and being from Texas, but it is better than alot of the other restaurants in WDW. So cooling and relaxing!

Am I the only one? First off - I LOVE the ambience inside the Mexico Pavillion - so romantic!

I like the ride - the bright colors, the music - so relaxing going along the river in the little boat...

Everywhere I turn I read about how "lame" it is and how it is a "waste" and it will detract from your day, etc.

Anyone else with me in the boat? (Pun intended )

What if Disney got the hunch that people didn't like it?? I'd be so sad if it weren't there!

I love it too. Let people think it is lame. My favorite part is that there is never much of a line!!!

Also I love waving to the people in the restaurant.

I love it because it is relaxing, just a nice boat ride, relax, unwind, a little Mexican history.

But then I also love the Land boat ride

My DH and I both love it. We ride it every single time we visit. I agree with you about the Mexico pavillion. It's my favorite actually. We love the entertainment, the atmosphere, the restaurant and the ride. Very romantic.

Much better than the Norway boat ride IMHO.

I loved that ride. And the whole pavilion. You may think us stupid, but the first time we went in was onb a beautiful, clear night and we didn't know it was inside until we talked to other people who'd been in in the daytime.

I didn't even know this was here until my fifth trip to WDW. That was the first trip that my now DH and I made together, just the two of us. The CMs at the ride gave us our own boat. And it was so relaxing and beautiful on that hot September day that we fell in love with the ride.
