Capri's or shorts?? I need some packing advise! :rotfl: We will be there 9 nights/10 days! :Pinkbounc I would like to pack light, but will probably do laundry 1/2 way through! Anyone else debating this?? I would love some guidance!

March can be a warm month in WDW, so pack shorts and summer clothes. Because you'll likely come home with a lot of souviners/goodies, I'd reccomend doing laundry halfway through - this will save some suitcase room.

Have a magical trip! :cool1:

I am going to be there same time as you are. We have been several times in mid March and it can be nice and warm so plan on some nice summer clothing either shorts or capris and do not pack too heavy.

We will fly down in our jeans and shirts with light jackets on (leaving winter coats in the car for our return). Soon as we get to the hotel we plan on changing into our shorts as it should be high 70s or so that day.

A light jacket or sweater, short sleeve shirts, shorts or capris, sandals should be fine that time of year...You might want to stick in a sweat shirt if you tend to get cold evenings then you can layer if you want too... :sunny:

See ya there... :sunny: :sunny: :cool1: :sunny:

Thanks for the tips! :cool1: I guess i will try to tone it down some! Blueberry, are you getting as excited as I am???  :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :cheer2: :cheer2:   :cool1: :cool1: :rotfl2: :moped: :cheer2: :Pinkbounc

Jack's Mom where are you staying? We are going for 10 days too! SSR 20-27, BWV27-30!!!See you all there!!!

The suitcases are all over the living room as I type, I pack roughly the same for the kids. We also wear our heavy outfit (kahki/shirt/allweather coat). I am too excited too!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I can tell you this week we have had a "cold" front. Miami has been in low seventies so Orlando must be in the 60s. It all depends on what you call cold and hot. The accu temp lonk seems to be on target +/- a few degrees. We will be there too.!!!! Yea!! :Pinkbounc

Getting my suitcases out this weekend to start and also appreciate the clothing suggestions. Having never been before, this is even my first trip to Florida, I was also clueless as what to pack

:Pinkbounc :flower: hi there - we are travelling on Easter Sunday and I was worrying about what to pack as I was not sure what weather would be like (or the crowds come to that - are we making a big mistake going at Easter?). Anyway, thanks for everyone's tips - they are really useful. I am sure it is going to be warmer than here in England where it is snowing!! - Judy

Rebecca's Mum, Just because you are having one of the worst winters in history :sunny: ....I know how you feel, we had a foot of snow the other day, and we are getting more tonight!!! So I understand. Last year when I went to Disney I found myself wearing pants/ capris every evening, and some mornings too. Don't for get the temps can vary as much as 20 degrees from the high to the low for the day! I could easily bring twice as much, but I know I will be doing laundry 2 times, so no need to over pack.

Easter will be busy...so expect that...make a list of your must do's and then set a plan to do that, any thing extra will be "gravy". I personally would not get overly wrapped up in shows. But do what your family likes , and you want to do to feel like it was worth the trip. Schedule breaks, the crowds will get to you.

Use a weather service to help you with what weather to expect. I like www.weatherchannel.com you can get the weather for orlando. If you have any questions ask....Look for me at BWV!!! :sunny:

We're going in a little less than 2 weeks...I'm going to take jeans and capris. It will probably be in the 70s, but that means the nights will probably be chilly, so take a couple light jackets for nights.

We leave in 3 weeks (staying at POR) and are glad to hear advice on packing. Do we need to bring a light rain jacket? I remember years ago that we found ourselves in the middle of a torrential downpour with only sweatshirts. Any advice?

::MickeyMo really appreciate that feedback - thanks for taking the time. Just realised where you are - you are having it much worse than we are (although this country seems to grind to a halt if half an inch of snow falls - we always seem to be taken by surprise when it snows in winter!).

Can't wait to get on that plane - thanks again for the tips.

Kaiya - it's always a good idea to have a poncho with you, although the only time we used one was in June...it rained everyday! Disney sells them, but I think they're like $5 or $6 when you can get them at the dollar tree or Wal-Mart for $1.

My advice:
2-3 of your favorite prs. of shorts(make sure they are dark as sometimes you tend to sit on some things that don't mix well with light color shorts). You can always wear double and have no problem if they are dark.
2 prs. capris(it get's cooler at night you might want them to change into)
1 pr. pants(well if you are coming from somewhere cold...DONT wear shorts to the airport! Not to mention its good to have 1 pr. just in case)
1 sweatshirt or fleece
5 tops(you'll be washing and may end up buying a shirt or two)
**Lots of socks and underwear. These are small and valuable. It's great to have way more than you think as sometimes it feels wonderful to shower after a long morning in the park and socks...well its hot, your feet WILL sweat if you wear tennis shoes***
1 pr. tennis shoes
1 pr. strap sandals that are comfortable and broken in(the shoes and sandals go hand-in-hand. Its good to have both as you can't be certain how your feet will react to either)
**All the necessary toiletries, aloe vera(great for chaffing, sun burn, etc.), moleskin(blister prevention), band-aids, etc.

Roll your clothes and make as much space as possible. You will probably come home stocked with souvenirs!!!

Hi!

Definitely layer at Disney...Flordia weather can be vastly different in the daytime and evening. Also, Florida gets A LOT of surprise rain showers(often only lasting aobut 1 hour), so pack an emergency poncho!

As for accessories, I like to pack:
Travel wallet (a thinner one for my purse that has only the essentials)
Blister block bandaids and normal bandaids
Instant hand sanitizer
Travel packs of tissues (never know when you are out of toilet paper!)
Sunglasses
Pair of spare glasses (if you lose/break your pair)
Very good sunhat
and SUNBLOCK! Don't underestimate the Florida sun, especially on children. Always get at least 30spf.

Hope that helps! Enjoy the trip! :wave2:

Thanks for all the tips! :cool1: canwegosoon, We will be at WL 3-16 till 3-20 then VWL 3-20 till 3-25! :cool1: :cool1: We are getting soooo excited! :cheer2:

I wanted to ditto the poncho..(not my favorite fashion statement, but ...) for rain (off and on ) poncho plus and umbrella(travel size is fine)!!! The Umbrella is so important, it keeps the rain off your head and face. Then I usually wear water shoes or sneakers depending on amount of rain. If it is going to be raining all day I wear my all weather coat which I have to wear on the airplane. I did the ponchos/umbrellas last year at AK and it rained all morning...we had a great time. I brought along an empty backpack to throw the ponchos/unbrellas in while we were inside for Dinosaur, and when it stopped raining. I also had put a pair of dry socks in another section of the backpack.

Also my favorite tip is I get a bag (vera bradley- a small string bag) on a string that sits across my body(I don't like fanny packs...just me). I hold the passes, room cards, credit cards, camera, any other little odds/ends and cash for snacks.

Cant wait to see you all!!! I will be wearing my Micky Mouse Lime Green Paint Sample on our Backpack so look for the LIME!!!

As a 25-year Central Florida resident, I can tell you that there is absolutely no way to predict what the weather will be like during your stay. March is very unpredictable. Several days ago we got down in the 30's at night, couple of days later we were in the high 70's, and today we are in the high 60's! In summary, the temperature during your stay will probably range between 40 and 80, and could reach both of those temperatures during the same 24-hour period. Bring shorts, capris, jeans, t-shirts, and definately a sweater or sweatshirt. Layering is the key. Most likely in the mornings at parks you will want to wear shorts with t-shirt and sweatshirt, then take off the sweatshirt as it warms up. Watch the local news every night for the following day's weather.

My plan is to pack EVERYTHING! I'm coming from NYC, so I must bring along a jacket to wear to the airport; however, it's going in my carry on once we get on the plane. I'm planning on bringing jeans, capris, skirts, tank tops, short sleeve shirts, and sweat shirts. Last year I went in March, and it was pretty chilly for the most part. The morning would be cold, the afternoon would be hot for a few hours, and the night time would be freezing. I recommend bringing sweatshirts wherever you go. Also, I'd say wear capri's, if anything. If it gets cold, you're atleast somewhat covered.
