Don't be surprised if your kids are equally thrilled with the hotel as they are with DL! My kids (9&6) think a continental breakfast and hot tub are the greatest things since sliced bread.

When our daughter was younger she didn't care what the destination was, she just used to ask "are we staying in a hotel?". She absolutely loved it!

Oh my gosh..check this out. Just had a total epiphany. My DD5's birthday is the day before we leave on our trip. DD1's birthday is the second day we're driving. (So we go to vegas the day between their birthday's...then it's DD1's bday)

HELLO! Birthday presents! We could give her her gifts in the hotel room before we leave..and make the last one the "i'm going to disneyland' shirt?? Or SOMETHING like that. Maybe a shirt for each of them...OOOH BABY this may have suddenly gotten EASY hahaha

I ordered the "It's my birthday" ears from the Disney store for our surprise announcement. I also found a few pics on the DISign boards with things like "I am going to Disneyland today!"

Heck, I'm 28 and it's still exciting to stay in hotels

And thanks DH loves the idea too. So we're probably doing this. It'll be a good way to get the kids up early and say "we have to celebrate baby's birthday!" Have her open all of them and give her the last one and say "we were hoping she'd share this last one with you two" and have a shirt for each of them. I love the mouse ears idea too. We're tossing that idea around still.

I can't wait to do this and tape DS's reaction. He's a tenderheart and I know he'll bawl. WOOOO LOL

We are going to surprise our DD4 this time around. I asked her if we ever get to go back, would you want it to be a surprise, and she excitedly said yes. So a surprise it is. Now to figure out how to make it really cool since we have to get on a plane to get there and the only 2x's she's been on a plane it was to go to DLR. haha
