Anyone else just HATE answering the phone?

I don't answer it either. My kids do. I detest that ringing sound, especially when I know it's my long winded SIL. I know she's good for 30 minutes even if I tell her I'm busy and have to go. I've been known to hang up on her in mid sentence. It also bugs me when people call after I've settled down to watch a favorite T.V. show. Everyone knows to leave me alone on Thursdays after 8pm.

I don't like to chat on the phone, never have. We have caller-id at home and an answering machine that's linked to caller-id; it announces the number so you're not scrambling for the phone to see who's calling. I don't answer any numbers that are "Out of area", and often those callers don't bother to leave a message. As for work, I speak as little as possble on the phone. I prefer email . Then you also have written words to back up the conversation.
