Anyone else here crazy for ROMPERS?

I have two concerns. First, the going to the bathroom thing. Second, I have a small waist and large hips and rear, and I don't know whether the romper would flatter my figure or whether it would be difficult to get a good fit.

The ones I've seen are cute. . .if you're a size 2 and don't have big girls.

I'm a 34-36 DD. So no. I don't own a romper. A romper with big mamajama bra straps sticking out of the top would look :scared::sad2::eek:

But I do think they look cute on the right women.:):goodvibes

For all the women who are afraid to show your arms and legs, I highly suggest weight training. I am in wayyy better shape than when I was in high school and college. I have muscle tone in my arms, and my legs have definition. It has done wonders for my confidence and self esteem. I have made peace with the fact I will NEVER have a six pack, though!

I think SoFla is very trendy, and also people are very body conscious down here. Wondering if this is regional?

I know a woman who runs marathons and has the worst cellulite running down the backs of her legs. You can, in some cases, reduce the appearance of cellulite, but,sad to say, a great part of that is completely genetically based.

And I think SoFla has it's own vibe, so to speak, which is a good thing! Paris, London, NYC are what I think of when I think of trendy.

Sorry, everyone I've seen in a romper this year just looks ridiculous. No matter how toned your arms are, if you are wearing a strapless one, it makes your chest look saggy. Rompers make even tiny rear ends look big, and the whole gathered at the tummy thing...uh, no.

When I see a woman in a romper, my first thought is that she cares more about trends than what is actually flattering. My second is the rhyme from Romper Room: Romper, Stomper, Bomper, Boo, Tell me, Tell me, Tell me do...

I even had as my FB status for awhile: If you are wearing a romper and over age six: go change clothes.

OP, I'm sure you look fantastic. I'm sure you'd look even better in some other outfit.

I will never wear another romper as long as live. I wore them in the 70's too as a kid.;)

MTE!

My fashion rule of thumb is if its something that you can find in the stores my dd likes to shop in then I'm too old to wear it. Rompers, jumpsuits, anything that looks cute on little girls just doesn't on anyone over 24 IMHO.

These are cute, but the rule of thumb I've learned is "if you wore it when it WAS in style or when you were a child you shouldn't wear it the second time around when it comes BACK in style". hee hee I try to stick to it as much as possible.

This is my rule, as well.

So, all the "ageists" out there...I am guessing you do not wear a bikini to the beach/pool? Curious. Again, not one of my friends (moms from school) wear a one piece. We are not wearing string bikinis, but everyone wears a bikini.

There's a big difference between choosing not to wear a romper and never wanting to show my arms or legs. I'm in pretty good shape. But at 47, the time for me to be trendy has passed. I've found that I look younger if I stick to more timeless looks as opposed to jumping on the trendy bandwagon. I have great legs but I can't wear a miniskirt and not look like mutton dressed as lamb.

I like my arms and legs, I'm in good shape. But I've been trying to figure out why those women in the Macy's ad look so amazing in the rompers (and they do!) and I look like such a dope. And finally I figured it out....it's HEIGHT!

I think if you are tall and have nice, long legs, you can really pull off wearing a romper. I'm short, with short legs and, worst of all, don't have much going on at the top. At all. So a romper makes me look like a 12 year old with a 40 year old face. Ick.
