My wife and I are trying to plan a trip to Disney World and stay at one of the All-Star resorts. We want to go 11/26-12/4.
Disney's value (cheap) season starts 11/27. So, I go to book the thing
at one of the cheap disney properties, and 11/26 should be $95.10 after
the AAA discount and taxes and 11/27-12/4 through 12/4 should be
$69.62.

What does the total come up as? $95.10 * 8 days = $760.80, instead of
$95.10 + $69.62 * 7 = $582.44

Apparently they give you the price you pay the first night for all of
the nights you stay there.

AAA says there is nothing they can do about it. It doesn't make sense.

You have to book 2 separate reservations. One for one night, and another for the rest of your trip. You can have them note them as continuing reservations so you won't have to move rooms.

If you are booking thru AAA.com it should split the rate for a room only ressie. I had this happen when we were originally booking our stay. We converted to a package because of the free dining though. Good Luck. For what ever reason, my TA couldn't change the price either. But she told me that AAA.com books thru a different system than the actual TA's who use the airline system.

I just went on AAA.com and tried your dates.
This is what it shows:

The All-star Sports Resorts Total Tax Per Room Is 13 Percent.
6 Percent State 1 Percent Osceola Sales And 6 Percent Resort.

Rate: $84.15USD For 1 Night Nov 26, 2005
$61.60USD For 7 Nights Nov 27, 2005 Through Dec 3, 2005

Acceptable Forms Of Payment: Deposits May Be Paid With American Express The Disney Credit

You will only see the $84 rate on the first booking screen, but once you click on book this room you will get the break down. Hope this helps. You don't have to book 2 ressies.

Where are you seeing booking on AAA. com? When I tried it, it had me fill out a form and someone contacted me.

You have to be a AAA member...but you just click on reserve a room. Then tell it orlando,fl for the city put in your dates and number of people. then scan down and put in the name of the resort you want. then just click on book and follow the directions. I don't think you can book online if you aren't a member.

I did that on AAA dot com and there are no disney hotels listed, only non-disney hotels in orlando.

You have to scan down to the bottom of the page and type in the name of the resort that you want. Put Orlando, in the city at the top of the page, put in your dates and number of people etc. Then scan down below that where you can choose your hotel name or star preference. This is where you will type in All Star Sports (or whichever one you want.) If you are using the small boxes on the home page click on advanced and that will take you to the screen I am referring to.

Ah ha! i see it now. Thanks adisneymama. I guess I do have to book through the AAA TA if I want a package though, right?

Yes, to book a package you will have to use the agent. But compare the price though. You may come out better (and often do) to book the room only and then purchase tickets in advance.

thanks. it's the same price through AAA to just book a room with or without a package. I compared the prices.

Your welcome. Usually that is what happens for me is that it is the same price. However, the last trip I priced was actually cheaper to book seperately. You just never know. Have a great trip!

Thanks for your help everyone, however if didn't quite work out! I
called and tried to do the following:

Book 1 night on November 26th at the Regular Season Rate
Book 7 nights on November 27th at the Value Season Rate with a 9 Day
Park Hopper and the Dining Package.

I was told that I can't use my 9 Day Pass before the the start of the
second reservation.

So I guess my options are to not having dining or to get a 1 day pass
at the higher rate... this is so frustrating!

Why not book it that way, but get an 8 day pass and do something else on the first day? Are you flying in or driving? You could visit the other resorts, have a character dining that didn't require park admission, like GF or CM for example. You could go to DTD do a little shopping or even eat there.

If you decide to book without dining then I would book a room only ressie on AAA.com and purchase a 10 day myw from Disney's website. Good luck!

Our flight lands at 10 am, so we were hoping for a day in the park. It's hard to believe that huge company like Disney has a reservation system that is this screwed up.

Book just a room reservation only and buy the 9 day tickets separately. This way you get the price you want for your rooms and still have 9 days in the park. Our AAA does not sell 9 day tickets, I think they only sell up to 7 days but Ticketmania.com usually has good prices for their tickets.

Have you tried to call Disney and book thru them? You can tell them that you are a AAA member and it is suppose to give you the room discount.

oh, i was under the impression that you had to book AAA through AAA.

It also works the other way around, if your trip starts in value season and goes into regular, you get the value season rate for the whole stay.
