About a year and a half ago my boyfriend and I adopted two cats. Not long after that he moved out and took the cats with him. A month ago a coworker who lives next door to exboyfriend said he moved out and left the cats outside to fend for themselves.
One of the cats ran away (haven't seen him at all) and the other one was sitting on the back step, so I took him home with me.
So the first week or two was great. What a good little kitty. Then he started being a brat. He demands attention. Between my fiance and I he gets plenty of attention. There are no kids in the house and we have no other pets. Last night I was reading the Dis boards and Ramsey thought he should be on my lap. I nicely told him no and set him on the floor several times. He just kept jumping back up. Then I said no firmly. The next time he tried to jump up again he clawed himself up my leg. When I tried to get him off of me he just held on tighter. I have scratches up my leg now. He does this stuff all the time. He swats at me when I walk by him and sometimes he even comes over and bites my feet.
He also doesn't want me to sleep. He keeps bothering me all night so now he is shut out of the bedroom at night. So now he sits outside the door and meows. Not a normal meow. It sounds like he's dying or something! I've been ignoring him, but he won't stop.
He jumps on the counters, walks across the coffee table, scratches all of the furniture (he has a scratch pad, but he licks it instead of scratching it
) and meows constantly....he doesn't shut up! I think he's trying to drive me insane.
I want that good little kitty back that I had a couple of weeks ago! I've tried the water bottle and even though he doesn't like water he still keeps being bad. I always had dogs growing up. We had some bad puppies, but nothing like this. They didn't force me to pay attention to them constantly. Are all cats like this? Can cats be trained at all? The only good thing he does is he always goes in the litter box.
Help!
